WTA all those who have problems with android phones and the zero upload speed on Tplink C1200:

Are your phones rooted?
If so, maybe that's why the problem exists?

I'm asking because I was considering rooting one of my older android devices. If rooting is gonna cause me this problem, I'll not do it.

Is it specific to 1492? I remember I try to change the MTU but can't remember exactly what number... doesn't work for me...
Maybe kel32 can try the exact number here to check if it works...

sorry just found the MTU setting and changed to 1492, get ul 4-5mbps.
Strange things is Asphalt Extreme game sync still fail to upload but perfectly fine on mobile data

1492 or lower. Basically 1500-8 (8 bytes for PPP & PPPoE header) My Mikrotik router defaults to 1480 if I don't set anything. DLink DIR-850L uses 1492 if set to Auto (default).

What was it before you changed it?

Wait....I had been posting where to change the MTU and I even provided list of MTU* value highlighted in green few days ago......and you just tested it just now?

I believe default value is 1480

i am glad it also worked for you. i spent a lot of time researching for the solution to this problem until i found out for myself that setting the MTU to 1492 will solve the zero upload speeds on android phones.

if i am not mistaken all android phones MTU setting is 1500 by default & you can't change it unless you root the phone. so when tp link c1200 MTU is set to 1480, the data cannot get through & that's probably why the upload speed is zero.

Not every android phone MTU use 1500.
Some use 1460, 1400.

Modern OS uses Path MTU Discovery, but in some case, ICMPv4 or ICMPv6 is blocked by devices (either by router or phones) which results in suboptimal MTU value.
