QUOTE(Keatsan @ Sep 25 2017, 03:57 PM) The RGX4400 is the most simple ones. Most basic of all compare to c1200 and dir-850L C1200 would be best if not for the slow boot up and long time to initiate internet. Firmware could be improved actually. 850L, issue is the slow GUI. Slow response and sometimes, hang. Just my 2 cents. Agreed, simple is always good, the RGX4400 GUI is really fast due to its simplicity. I like it too for other features such as a shell via telnet and ssh and most of all got SNMP, so can monitor. Very sad to see that TM no longer gives this router. I go to this coffee shop which had an RGX4400 and 100mbps. Not a problem. Now after change management, it's 30mbps and a DIR-850L, half the time can't connect. It's better now after I turned everything non-essential off. This post has been edited by soonwai: Sep 25 2017, 04:46 PM

Admittedly I haven't used that so I don't know for sure but I'm fairly confident that it has such a basic function. Or do you mean it has it but it doesn't work because there're a few things in the RGX4400 that do not work properly even though it's in the GUI. Usually a router can reserve specific IP for specific Mac devices. But it's for management purpose. Other than that, it's a functioning router with all basic needs.

QUOTE(Keatsan @ Sep 25 2017, 07:34 PM) Ahh I see, assuming you’re referring to what qbill said, that’s something entirely different. Static ip range assigned by pppoe. The other guy nabiscolicious didnt know what qbill was talking about and applied his knowledge of static dhcp leases to attempt an answer. In a way they do the same thing. You end up with an ip which doesn’t change. But it’s very different. This post has been edited by soonwai: Sep 25 2017, 08:22 PM

Most likely it's the C1200. Unless they change again the router package. Even if it's the security risk router DIR-850L, it's adequate actually.

QUOTE(Alex9182 @ Sep 26 2017, 04:51 PM) TM Authorized Re-seller very confidently told me only 2 antenna and C750 speed. Well, the re-seller could be right, depending on area. I don't know if they're giving C750 because I see mostly threads talking about C1200 But as long as it's a new router, it should be fine for normal home usage. Getting Started

QUOTE(Alex9182 @ Sep 26 2017, 04:51 PM) TM Authorized Re-seller very confidently told me only 2 antenna and C750 speed. your reseller talk kok only. the router that you will get is from the TM installer & that moron reseller won't have any idea what router you will get because TM will assign a random installer to come to your house for installation. depending on your luck, you will get TP-link C1200 or D-Link or some other router. i know because i asked my installer why TM give me C1200 router & he said the router is supplied to them by TM.

He said that they're still only giving the 3 antenna TP Link Archer C1200 or the Dlink tin hitam. He also mentioned that he sakit telinga from those who got the Dlink. I pity him lah..he's a pleasant guy, and the firmware vulnerability is definitely not his fault.

I was first given c1200 but it was causing me issue and I end up get to swap to rgx4400 and that is the best thing ever for me.. very happy with the router and please with it ...no issue connect at 5ghz band and also previously old router I need to use repeater but now with this rgx4400 the signal can reach to the far corner of my house... me thinks it is actually good! QUOTE(Alex9182 @ Sep 25 2017, 11:01 AM) If they provide me TP-Link C1200 should be ok, but if i get Innacomm RGX4400 or D-Link build in antenna models, i will replace them with better one. any one please recommend what brand and models i can consider for this replacement. is TENDA AC6 AC1200 a cheap and good wireless router?
