Out of curiosity has anyone tried using a wetsuit brand called Fourth Element? more specifically the proteus line.

I have the 5mm Proteus I. It's a good suit, designed and constructed well, good choice of materials too.

But for 7mm and above I think there are better suits.

Similar like Sharkskin range, premium quality of wetsuit.

Price very attractive too.

They are priced ridiculously high in Malaysia though... check prices in Australian shops for a competitive comparison.

im not sure whats the actual RRP but in japan its going for 46000 yen which is about slightly higher than what i see in malaysia which is going for like 1767MYR 3mm and 2000MYR~ish for the 5mm from a certain shop soo..whats the AUD price then?

EDIT: from what i see in AUD its going for 475AUD which isnt much different in margins from one shop which is selling for 1767MYR since thats just roughly 1600MYR, i think if you add shipping it will be the same or probably more....

i am using 4th element thermocline top suit which is neutral buoyancy, good quality long lasting material, bought it 2 years plus ago, no regret so far..

last time i checked UK prices it is slightly cheaper than in Msia even with shipping..

on a side note, i also have 5mm farmer john proteus for male, and female's thermocline top suit to let go biggrin.gif

Oh so it's only a 10% difference now, that's not that bad then. Last year when I was comparing prices, they were as much as 20-30% apart (and an additional 10% if you take into account Australia tourist GST refund).

a quick search turned up 264 and 294 GBP which equates to 1496 and 1666MYR for the 3mm and 5mm respectively and even if you reduce VAT and add shipping its still going to be in the margins of 5~10% or possibly more

i think the prices have leveled out so unless its something new in the market i dont see fleece pricing
