No worry. I value your input. You are not the only person experiencing the same thing, so i can't simply dismiss your opinion. You have your argument and i have mine. But we are not arguing each other. smile.gif

My argument based on my experience with the car and from reading materials. I'm not claiming to be all-knowing. Just as you said, we are sharing info.

thumbup.gif Today refill full tank. Will measure ECO off. When ECO on most of my drive in city is 36L (420-450km). Let see in few refill does Off make a different or not. devil.gif

Still got 1.5k before my 20k service. hmm.gif I know this service is quite expensive above rm500+.

need advice here, I'm planning to get OBD lock for the vios 2018 model, for auto lock when brake pedal is pressed.

Initially I'm looking at this which is cheap at rm80.
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/toyota-2...110173649a82607

however after I enquire the seller, he asked me to get this for 2018 model instead, at 2x the price. Reason giving is the latest vios brake pedal is linked to the alarm system, hence need a different configuration.
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/toyota-v....6f9440be0VMd9E

Is it true? Or is there a cheaper alternative for auto lock system?

What ameyhazuan say is true. The cheaper 1 won't work. I try a few already all not working. I didn't buy on9. I went to car accessories shop and test. Out of 3 cheap different OBD all not working. 1 even after plug in and remove the car acting weird ... and i had to bring back toyota to reflash my ecu.

Better go for some car accessories shop to test. I saw THIS sell in some shop . So far i ask a shop they charge rm180 include installation. I know buying on9 save rm25. Paying extra a bit for labor won't hurt.

very crap headunit. you need to remove your device on the player then re-join as new device then solved. after sometime will have this problem.

the engine temperature is just a check for new alu engine. can just drive off with the engine light still on.
Be more environmental friendly. it wont damage the engine as new engine can work in cold.

Guys, sorry if this is a noob question but what is the blue thing (pls refer to pic) and why does it comes on practically everytime I start the car? And it takes some times before going off. Do I need to wait for it to go off before I start driving?

Also, is there a proper way to use the push start button? The SA just told me to press brake and push start.

Cold – All is still good. The old cars need a little warming up . Modern cars are fine that way. No need to warm up. If the indicator show red or hot then you should worry need to react fast.

What the SA told u is correct. Press brake and push start. That all.

Thanks!

My old old vios also got that blue light...must be about 11-12 years old now. And it takes much longer to go off. Anyway noted that RED only need to panic.

make sure you go through the proper starting instruction in owners manual, sometimes SA could be misleading.

That is an engine temperature indicator. Blue means engine still cold, red means too hot. I usually drive off when the blue light gone

Yes, you can start your car immediately by pressing brake+push start.

But for me, i like to press push-start once to unfold the side mirror. Once done, i press push-start again to reset fuel injection, scanning all the sensors and other things. After few seconds, usually when airbag light is off, then only i press brake+push start. My only reason to do so, it won't drain the car battery more and to make sure each process will have full operating power.

Again, it is not for argument. Just my personal preference.

Hi,

Would like to confirm with you about the side mirror.
Your side mirror will unfold when push the start button?
Mine will fold/unfold when press the lock/unlock key.
Why different?
Is it because different batch?
