I think VIOS ECO indicator is different from what CITY have.

VIOS ECO indicator just a indicator to determine the current driving situation is in the optimal condition where fuel economy will be achieved. It doesn't have anything related to ECU tuning, etc. Turning it on/off wont affect your FC. It is just a display.
While CITY, yes, they did have this difference when they switched between ECO and non-ECO, as it involved with ECU tuning.

Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

I think you wrong. I already feel the engine response with ECO OFF. Every gear upshift the rpm being push down is not that hard.

Are you serious? If you off the light means just the light. You just turning off the indicator not turning off eco mode. The only way to free from eco mode is to drive in manual.

Like the turning off VSC do you feel anything?
ECO there is a slight rpm pulling down when On.

Turn off vsc also feel nothing different. Either on or off, feel nothing. The system will get activated when it fullfil the requirements.

Same goes with eco indicator. Turn it off do nothing on performance. The purpose for that indicator light is for behavioral modification. Meaning to say you need to keep that light on while driving to save petrol.

Sorry to say, just placebo effect.

Hmm... hmm.gif Me and my friend also does feel. VSC on the car you could feel abit heavier on 4 of the wheel. Taking a high speed corner with and without VSC can also feel the light wheel and floating.
Going uphill genting during raining with high speed cornering if one of the wheel is slipping you can feel VSC was kicking in.

Turning ECO off doesn't increase the performance. ECO on and off you can see it will try to save yr fuel with lowest rpm.
For ECO ON when you accelerating press the pedal fully down you can feel the rpm was alittle dragging and it try to pull down the rpm to meet the ECO. With it off i can feel the smoothness in the rpm but sure abit higher

The only time you wish you feel the VSC is when your car is skidding and your VSC is off rolleyes.gif

No comment on the eco mode though. But I do feel that the car has tendency to pull? shift down? when in a crawling traffic jam speed with eco.

Vsc/trc/abs only control your brake. So I can't comprehend how you can feel it. There is no other mechanical involved except braking systems. During activation (eg. Slippery during cornering), vsc light will flash.

As for the eco light indicator, if you turn it off, you tend to drive as you like, therefore more power, more fc. Why not turn in on and stick a black tape above the indicator and see if fc any different.

Ps. Not for argument. Everybody entitled to their own opinion. I respect that. Even we are on disagreement, we should keep respecting each other.

Guys, sorry if this is a noob question but what is the blue thing (pls refer to pic) and why does it comes on practically everytime I start the car? And it takes some times before going off. Do I need to wait for it to go off before I start driving?

Also, is there a proper way to use the push start button? The SA just told me to press brake and push start.

That is an engine temperature indicator. Blue means engine still cold, red means too hot. I usually drive off when the blue light gone

Yes, you can start your car immediately by pressing brake+push start.

But for me, i like to press push-start once to unfold the side mirror. Once done, i press push-start again to reset fuel injection, scanning all the sensors and other things. After few seconds, usually when airbag light is off, then only i press brake+push start. My only reason to do so, it won't drain the car battery more and to make sure each process will have full operating power.

Again, it is not for argument. Just my personal preference.

No worry. I value your input. You are not the only person experiencing the same thing, so i can't simply dismiss your opinion. You have your argument and i have mine. But we are not arguing each other. smile.gif

My argument based on my experience with the car and from reading materials. I'm not claiming to be all-knowing. Just as you said, we are sharing info.
