QUOTE(dnlrf @ Sep 19 2018, 12:27 AM)
Hey guys, I have a 2015 1.5G. It has halogen projector headlights. They look kinda weak especially when the road is wet.

I'm thinking of upgrading to LED bulbs. Would something like this work?

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/2pcs-h4-...L47b3k&search=1

Will I see an improvement over the stock bulbs? Are they legal? Are they any less reliable?

Also, when the light shines on the road, it looks like this \ \ rather than being symmetrical. So the left side is illuminated further than the right side. Aren't projector headlights supposed to have like a straight line where the light ends? Will changing bulbs solve this issue?

Thanks in advance.
*
before converting to led you need to know how to disperse the heat emitted by the LED. else you will have melted headlamp unit or even worse car caught fire. LED on long run will be very hot . some led has alu fin at the end to disperse the heat and not melt or burnt the car

No there are no improvement during rainy days and foggy weather as yellow or amber lights will shine brighter on these occasion

Dear sifu.

Photo attached is the list of ncp 42 absorber and link part.

The "2016" is the one I change in 2016.
The one in tick without 2016 is the recommendation to changed during 2016.

My problem is the alignment will never be correct. Now my new tyre eat 1 side. No matter chamber adjusted, new tyres, balancing etc etc.

I asked around, many people say it is lower arm making the problem.

That's price is around 2016. So I suppose now will getting more expensive. I opt to go SC because I have a bad exp of changing engine mounting outside. Cheaper by few hundred, but the worskmanship is terrible.

Long story cut short.

Now my car already reaching 200k km.

thus I think to have a Maxcheck advance plus in SC. change break pad including oil and bleeding.

And to change the lower arm as well.
I am running out of idea. I try and ask about outside shop. even my regular I started not to trust.

Opinion and please guide me if oyu guys have any similar exp.

Try visit this shop. Alot V.O.M members did their vios

Are you serious? If you off the light means just the light. You just turning off the indicator not turning off eco mode. The only way to free from eco mode is to drive in manual.
*
did you try. i do off the eco and the response are better. but the FC is killing. i got 30% lesser mileage with eco off

Hmm... hmm.gif  Me and my friend also does feel. VSC on the car you could feel abit heavier on 4 of the wheel. Taking a high speed corner with and without VSC can also feel the light wheel and  floating.
Going uphill genting during raining with high speed cornering if one of the wheel is slipping you can feel VSC was kicking in.

Turning ECO off doesn't increase the performance. ECO on and off you can see it will try to save yr fuel with lowest rpm.
For ECO ON when you accelerating press the pedal fully down you can feel the rpm was alittle dragging and it try to pull down the rpm to meet the ECO. With it off i can feel the smoothness in the rpm but sure abit higher

Thanks for detail explaination. That's spot on agreed.

the engine temperature is just a check for new alu engine. can just drive off with the engine light still on.
Be more environmental friendly. it wont damage the engine as new engine can work in cold.

Hi,

Would like to confirm with you about the side mirror.
Your side mirror will unfold when push the start button?
Mine will fold/unfold when press the lock/unlock key.
Why different?
Is it because different batch?
*
For G-Spec
2018 will autofold when lock unlock. 2017 still have options.
I am using 2018 and my other one is 2017.
differences are alot for these two

Hey all, my vios is about 5 months old, anyone encounter some noise when they press the break pedal ? Like something repeatedly hitting when the wheel rolling and create tak tak tak noise? Only happens when i just start the engine and drove for 5 mins, after that the noise is gone when i press down the break pedal. Is this something i could take concern about?
*
tak tak tak. not sure. but if when cold will have some noise.

No love for New 2019 Vios? Seems like nobody is talking about it here smile.gif
From the review, seems like UMW has learned its lesson and starts throwing in all the bells and whistles to compete against City, and the reviews have been positive as well (aside from the opinion dividing front design). What are your thoughts?
*
no budget to change. It is the best car for this segment i believe. J spec with all 7 airbags VSC.

Engine is till from previous model. City's engine still more powerful but in term of overall package maybe Vios is better for now smile.gif
*
It's a 2017 updated engine.
City is still with same engine
The only issue for vios or Toyota is their meter cluster looks uncle. Not very futuristic like honda

Fill up tank after each journey.
1. Fill up tank before travel.
2. Travel.
3. Fill up again and get the amount in ringgit at the fuel station.
4. Read the trip meter to obtain the distance travelled and reset.
*
bro step 4 should split into two
and since new petrol pricing starts, read how many litres instead of pricing

Fill up tank after each journey.
1. Fill up tank before travel.
2. reset trip meter
3. Travel.
4. Fill up again and get the amount iof litres used at the fuel station.
5. Read the trip meter to obtain the distance travelled and repeat steps 2-4
.
You can use notepad or even fuelly.com as shown in my signature below.
BTW now i record only on my notepad. too lazy to post in fuelly

the eco on off discussion is back. hhh. i did mentioned before as well alst year on this. vios CVT, eco off will guzzle more petrol and the pickup will be same as CVT is slow at pickup compared to older auto gearing.

anyway this is my test and you can find it in this thread few post back

AT 4 speeds vs CVT.. Sure conventional AT 4 speeds pick up..

CVT Eco off  vs  CVT Eco on  =  ?  Got different in pick up or not?

Vios 2019 Eco  vs Sports..

Using Sports on normal roads.. Eco mode on highway?
*
For me, 2018 Vios, CVT eco off and on has no diferences. it's the same pickup.
With eco off, only no eco lights being lit and you will not know whether you are light footed or heavy footed.
so in conclusion, for my CVT 2018 vios test,FC depends on leg itself. with eco on i can have low FC by adhering with the eco lights.

FYI this is just based on my daily drive usage, Might be different from others

finally my vios is ready. but the salesman told me my insurans is around rm2.8k. is it that expensive? This is my 1st car previously do not has any car insurans

My frenz told me becoz i'm over 25 years old so the price is like that......Don't know is true or not
*
ask the salesman, what insurance is that?
there are two types of car insurance. Market price and Fixed price.
If the later then 2.8 is worth as you will get full amount of what you paid if car is totaled loss
Market price is cheaper and it depends on current market for the car and you get only 3/4 of market price.

QUOTE(Chyan @ Mar 4 2019, 11:35 AM)
Nope.

These key things;

Warranty not void.

1. Light bulbs externally & internally (P&P), aftermarket headlights, taillights.

2. Battery
3. Brake pads
4. Exhaust muffler (After 1 year no warranty)
5. Bodykits
6. OBD tuning kit, ECU-SHOP/UNICHIP (P&P)
7. Chassis reinforcement bars (UR bar, UTR, Super circuit)
8. Rims not more than default size & max 7jj.

Void on areas affected

1. Shocks & springs
2. Engine component (pulley, airbox, air filter, ECU)
3. Rims more than default size +17" + 8jj
4. Aftermarket head-unit & speakers, reverse cam.
5. Exhaust modifications affecting extractor & catalytic converter.

Rule of thumb is electrical splicing & engine component changes will be void with any type of mod.
Personally, I have changed the bolded areas & went to SC without any issues.
Outside servicing, oil changes will totally void your warranty.

TS can append on the front page if it's useful.  biggrin.gif
*
Wipers, tyres as well wont void warranties
