New Mazda CX-5 !
edit: go paultan dot org to read; don't know why LYN don't allow links now?

I find it interesting that their lowest end car, 2.0L is RM155K. And the design was basically same as previous model with some slight changes. How are they going to compete with CR-V or is Mazda the leading brand now in Malaysia vs Honda?
*
They consider themselves as the "premium" japanese. Look at all their car prices you'll know. Especially the puny CX-3 at that ridiculous price. I wouldn't buy any of Mazda cars, interior too cramp for me compared to equivalent competitors.

They didn't bleed the tyres pressure to the recommend pressure. All those cars come from the assembly plant are pump to high pressure for storage. I can feel the crv tyre that I test drive as hard as a rock.
*
I observed the tyre pressure was as high as 48 psi, lower to their recommendation 32 psi, but i find 34 psi is ideal.

I was considering a CX-5 and a 2016 CR-V about a few months ago. Then the old-age thinking of Honda being a better brand and stronger SUV win the day which swayed me towards the CR-V. Then the new design of the 2017 made it a no brainer. And I was shocked to see that the answer to the new CR-V was a more expensive, slightly different CX-5. I think Mazda going to face a lot of challenge this year dry.gif

I think it's all depending what you want, like myself, bigger space and Honda Sensing are utmost important as it's a family and weekend car. I really love the handling of Tiguan and I believe CX5 is excel in that too.

CX5 handling better and more agile but cabin space is very limited.

During my 5 years ownership of the CX5 I have zero problem, sold it for 80K, slightly more than 50% resale value after 5 years, not bad la.....

The new CRV I have is noisy, and seems heavy when accelerate but the reliability, durability, resale and spacious cabin is what I want.

Anyone knows where can find running board at good price please share....thanks.

Does all CRV come with the same brand of tyres ?  I was hoping I could Neto with SA to get Michelin tyres instead.

Only the 2.0 come with good year tyres. 1.5 t variant toyo tyres. Toyo not bad compare other market get bridgestone dueler. Dealers will not do the swapping. U can trade in ur tyres on outside shop once u get u car. Once u clock miles with ur new tyre the value will go down. Going for michelin primacy suv or latitue touring?

Had very good experience with Michelin Primacy 3 ST, very quiet. They used to have Primacy SUV but I can't find it on their Malaysia website anymore, not sure if it has been discontinued in local market.

There are three level of zoom. I admit the closest level is blur, but the one that show far off is pretty good. Maybe I'm just easy to please.

Interesting observation... Been looking for such an owner's viewpoint. From CX-5 to new CRV.

I think primacy 3ST don't have these size. Primacy SUV still available and latitude touring is more expensive side. U can't go wrong with Michelin as they are quiet tyres.

The resolution on these camera are very low. U can't see clearly the traffic behind when u are backing up, where else my after market camera on my previous car can see clearly. They cut cost on the resolution to make way for 3 angle view.

I'm not always like that but over the years, I tell myself that I should not be spending precious time worrying over little details, which, over time I will not care for anymore. For example, the car is nice now, sure - but after 5 years, I probably don't care if there's a slight nick. And that rear camera is probably the least on my mind now among other things in life. So, why waste these precious time over small matters? It's happier that way, don't you think? Anyway, once a while, I still get bugged but it's a continuous challenge I have to overcome myself rclxs0.gif

Agree... even my lousy Toyota player has 10times more clarity than CRV one
