Because Digi 3G is not usable in some areas, like mine. However, some of the firmwares allow it seems. I'm yet to try.
Not sure if it's firmware or coverage issue.

Let's not get disappointed so early, try it out. Apparently my 61a select LTE-A band when i changed the network band to automatic in the toolbox software. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
Not sure where comes the rumor that 61a cannot support CA, may be because most people here are using the 22a variant.

You mean LMT firmware + e5186 = Volte works?

Not VoLTE but 3G data while making call

It doesnt work too when i was in orginal huawei firmware. However, after i flashed to LMT firmware, it solved the issue and i can still use the internet while making or receive phone calls.

Can select doesn't mean that it works.
61a does not support B3+B7 CA.

laugh.gif It's not rumour, it's a fact. No doubt, it's a CA model router but it can't work with B3+B7.
Here you go to see the specs: Attached File  E5186_TCPU_V200R001B306D01SP00C00_Release_Notes_V1_0.pdf ( 356.16k ) Number of downloads: 92
Page 9
There must be a reason why it's selling much cheaper compared to 22a variant. laugh.gif

Probably software but I don't think it's something easy to mod. Even phones require quite a lot of effort to mod, what's more a router? Good luck in searching. laugh.gif

It's very unfortunate for you to encounter this.
Even some sellers on Taobao will send 61a variant and keep insisting it's the same. Luckily, I always insist them to snap photos for me to see to prove those are 22a routers. So, gotta do some research.

If you dare, you may try flash with-22 firmware. Maybe can unlock it.
But antenna design may not same for different variant, even chipset is same.
You may have weird or weak connection even you can connect it.
