QUOTE(pmg @ Aug 4 2017, 11:19 AM)
I'm at Bukit Jalil, near Awan Besar MRT. High population density with lots of tall buildings. LTE dies between 7pm - 1 AM over here. Lately, it's slow almost all the time.

I'm fine with torrent traffic shaping but when you cant even check WhatsApp, YouTube stuck at 480p (sometimes 144p even) and doing online banking times out way too often,  then RM150 a month seems exorbitant.
*
No unifi in your area? Infinite 150 plan is for kampung area. Not for high density urban area where the traffic is too high.

I don't know PJ is considered as kampung area. I can get 60Mbps and above consistently.
*
Normally la. Good for you then. Better than unifi. Infinite 150 really godsend for low density kampung area without Unifi.

Surprisingly LMT firmware do not have pause issue when making calls, after it switch to 3G (making or receive calls) internet is still working without any pause time
*
You mean LMT firmware + e5186 = Volte works?

He mentioned 3G and 3G is not LTE. So, it's not VoLTE.
*
I don't think 3g can do that. You sure?

Why not? It supposedly works this way if without VoLTE. LTE will drop to 3G during a phone call.
*
Because 3g can either have voice or data. You can't have both.

Not VoLTE but 3G data while making call
It doesnt work too when i was in orginal huawei firmware. However, after i flashed to LMT firmware, it solved the issue and i can still use the internet while making or receive phone calls.
*
Have you try streaming a movie while on the call?

I found a firmware on a Russian forum with VoLTE enabled. PM me if you are interested to try.

Only for the brave ones.  laugh.gif

I can't try as E5186 is my primary internet connection currently.
*
Volte is useless because DiGi detect what phone you use to enable Volte.

Anyone here able to enable PPTP or L2TP connection using another router with i150? The purpose is to get a public IP from VPN.
It seems to be blocked. I tested with Unifi and no problem.
*
How to check if PPTP is blocked? I use PPTP with PureVPN and it can stream movies.

Not all pig and dog phone can support Digi Volte. The link I send to you, there's a list of devices that only supports them! If your phone got voLTE enabled also, if Digi voLTE not supported on your phone also no use! boleh faham ke?
*
I am not sure why you are repeating what I said to blacktubi. I already said only supported phone can support Volte. That's why I said flashing Volte to e5186 does not mean Volte can be supported by DiGi.

VoLTE need hardware + software + config/setting to make it work.
If you phone is supported but not able to connect it, it means the modem file is not there.

There is a mbn file inside the system:

either /system/etc/customization/modem/
or /system/etc/firmware/
or /system/rfs/apq/gnss/readonly/firmware/image/modem_pr/mcfg/configs/mcfg_sw/generic/sea/

If you see something XXX_DIGI_XXXX.mbn, congrats your device is supported.
*
Means the hardware/phone maker need to ask DiGi what is the configuration and then put into their firmware during upgrade. Very specific support needed.

Yes, and if you have root, you can try to modify it.
This is example my phone support Singapore telco but not available for Malaysia telco.

But I still need to have correct model right? I can't simply flash it to any phone. Or modem.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 8 2017, 12:23 PM)
Not sure about that.

I no longer own the Redmi Note 3. I just tested with an S8 and it is able to get VoLTE while not being listed on the list as well.
*
That's because DiGi did not update their website.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 16 2017, 10:41 PM)
With more and more people affected  by the throttle speed when on hotspot thing, I guess we should start to voice out our concern to Digi or the relevant authority.

We are subscribing to a unlimited data plan with no specified data caps or speed throttling, it is stated in the product sheet where  the hotspot will not be capped as well. This is getting really obvious where Digi is enforcing a speed cap on this RM150 plan.
*
1. DiGi is mobile network. You can't expect stable network like Unifi.
2. It's still unlimited and 10mbps is damn fast for Netflix
3. If DiGi don't speed cap, you might get 1mbps during peak hours. You want that?
4. Mobile speed is not capped. So it's not a problem also.
So it's important for us to support DiGi hotspot speed cap during peak hours. 10mbps is good enough. At least it's better than Streamyx.

You don't seem to understand the problem over here. They are limiting tethered connections as low as 2Mbps for certain users when their mobile devices can reach like 30Mbps.

According to the product FAQ, Digi i150 should be able to enjoy the full speed with unlimited tethering. I would be fine if they didn't market it that way.

Well, at least there's a way to get around this now. smile.gif
*
If cap, why some 10mbps and some 2mbps? I think it's not capped. It's probably user network hotspot problem.

QUOTE(Neomax3 @ Aug 17 2017, 12:02 PM)
still that restriction is applicable to all devices would it be mobile devices, pc or others in i80 case..
on i150 as far I tested on 2 devices one is PC another is android box I have no issue other than inconsistency of speed.. speed is whether a bit low or near to the tested speed..
maybe yes Digi is throttling but to certain users only..
*
Why DiGi trottle certain user only? Probably trottle based on congestion area I believe.
