Hi, I accidentally bought the e5186-61a version from Sing4G and realised it cannot perform CA. Anyone can guide me to optimize it performance through settings at least?

Don't think can return since the model variant actually stated in the description, which I overlooked. But anyway, I did the same as your suggestions and the speed is quite decent, as least better than my 4mb streamyx. May be will get the mimo antenna for better signal, but sometimes network congestion also a problem.

Speed test of my e5186-61a at 8pm just now. It cant do CA so I just switch between band 3 and band 7 when the speed seems slow.

tried with my huawei mate 9, can hit ~20mbps with 4g+ in late night when most people asleep.

Let's not get disappointed so early, try it out. Apparently my 61a select LTE-A band when i changed the network band to automatic in the toolbox software.
Not sure where comes the rumor that 61a cannot support CA, may be because most people here are using the 22a variant.

u mean me? after use it for some time, i noticed that the speed is not very consistent during day time probably due to network congestion at my area, so the speed test result hardly tell you the actual situation. i have get speedtest result over a wide range of dl/ul from 3-10mbps.
since i also night owl, the speed is considered much better after 12am to midnight.

Well, i can't do anything even if it doesn't work, already unbox and used, don't think sing4G will refund me.
Actually i did't select the the B3+B7 in the toolbox to force it CA. I just feel lazy to switch between b3 and b7 since these both bands are not performing the same throughout the day, i chose back the 'automatic' option, then it shows LTE-A (B3+B7), god knows whether the CA occur or not. Too bad if what was stated in the product spec sheet is true.

May be will consider getting the NETGEAR Aircard 790s since it also supports CA and much cheaper than the e5186-22a (ship from oversea unit only RM300+ in lazada). Anyone here owning that can give some comments since it's not mentioned on page 1? but first i need to decide how to handle my61a

Couldn't agree more. at least i still have my streamyx to fall back when digi is congested, although that beats the purpose of using digi as replacement for streamyx.
Was told by technician recently that unifi is going to available in my area soon, but i will never take their words seriously.
