QUOTE(Azhar85 @ Feb 26 2008, 08:36 PM) then after 1-2 years..PS3 will boost sales because the PS3 is the only consoles that support blu-ray player that are cheap among sony blu-ray player nowdays.. Not really, the upcoming Sony BDP-S350 is only USD400 and it's a profile 2.0 ready player and it bitstreams DTS-HD MA, something the PS3 couldn't do but it's a gaming console, what to expect, right? QUOTE(johnkor @ Feb 26 2008, 08:38 PM) will not die one 2 in one ma ! True also lah, still got combo players from Samsung and LG to cater for hd-dvd movie fans

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-HD-EP30-Pl...l/dp/B000W4EB22Tosh HD-EP30 (EU equivalent of the HD-A30) going for GBP78 (~RM495). 2 free HD-DVDs included in the box - 300 and The Bourne Supremacy. No need stepdown convertor unlike the A30. No international shipping, so needs a UK address to buy. Free shipping within UK (about 6-10 days to deliver). At that price, it's almost equivalent to B&H's US$150 for the A30. Sorry, I could be mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that the Sony BDP-S350 doesn't do DTS-HD MA, only the D550 does. Apologies if I'm wrong. This post has been edited by terranova: Mar 1 2008, 01:29 PM

Do you think this is good offer?? All quoted price in SGD so thats 2.25 different....
Ahoy mateys,
I'll be selling my xbox 360 HD-DVD drive + remote bundled with the following HD-DVD movies:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory The Corpse Bride The Departed Forbidden Planet Happy Feet Sleepy Hollow Superman Returns Training Day Million Dollar Baby The Good Shepard Planet Earth Box Set Batman Begins
I'm letting the whole set go for $300 (the works out to $15 per movie, $120 for the Planet Earth box set and $30 for the drive), which I reckon is a steal.
I'm willing to break up the set, but would prefer to deal directly with one individual. Planet Earth alone is a most stunning documentary, completely unrivalled by any other nature documentary out there.
Buy It Now price: $300
Bidding starts at $200. Any takers?
I'll be closing the bid on Friday evening, 6pm.
Very tempting yeah?? The only missing is Transformer and 300 hehehehe. Dealing will be in Singapore...

Apologies if I'm wrong. Well, BD-S350 doesn't decode DTS-HD MA internally but it can output via bitstream so if you have a next gen amp, that's not an issue at all.

To those people who already and successfully ordered HD DVD from amazon to ship to Malaysia. Do you have any problem with custom clearance and will they imposed tax? Thank you...

Keep the total value under RM500 to be safe if you use USPS. If use courier, even better.

I got one stuck at Kastom and they mail me to go there and cleared it. but the thing is Amazon already gave me that parcel already. so I just leave it there (or them) to either send them back.. or (what else.. they keep )

Cheers I doubt so....there isnt any HD-DVD player available that is available to encode the divx format, and the same goes with upscaling dvd player for encoding higher than 480p divx format, as they are purposedly built for upconverting the dvd format fro higher resolution, such as 720p or 1080p. My advise, if u want a full compatibility for upconversion capability to higher resolution, get yourself a media center pc with either DVI or HDMI connection to your LCD TV....
