Hi everyone, I have since started looking for my next job. Seeing that my company may not be able to secure new projects, I am concerned about my future as a contract employee (although the contract is 2 years).

I am involved in HUC, mainly assisting the lead commissioning engineer with ITR tracking. I attend meetings every night so I am also aware of the progress of the different disciplines.

I am interested in consultants like RWP, Petrofac etc. Just wondering if the offshore experience will do me any good for my next job? Or I am limited to more HUC job. I don't mind venturing into downstream (background is chemical engineering).

Are you listed in LinkedIn?

NES Global has positions for Commissioning engineers at RAPID. Look up the details in LinkedIn.

this is quite an open end question. It depends. Using contractor supplied vessels? Usually for projects or large scale maintenance works. Or using operation vessels? Usually direct liase with operation maintenance team.

I have heard of it being put on hold due to limiting funds... looks like petronas is going full force or else they need to cut manpower again..
