Anyone go OGA this week?

(^__^)
*
Yes. No participation from all operators and major service providers. Consider the most senyap and worse OGA. on the bright side, plenty of gifts to snag. my friend was lucky to get a samsonite back pack

Guys

Need some insight. Currently working in O&G manufacturing plant in Johor.  Lately got contacted by few recruitment agencies for position in Pengerang.

However my concern is the remaining duration on the project. Expected to complete in 2019. What happened to contract based position then?
Position is Manager level.

manufacturing or or fabrication?

Can we say most of the Petronas project staff in Pengerang came from offshore project team
I know 1 CM in hyundai package were from labuan
How about the O&M team
for other company
EPCC maybe absorb into O&M JV??
Contractors clear cut no job once project completed
Then hoped for opening O&M contractor in future
*
Its a competitive market. from what i know local companies are now working closely to secure the maintenance job in pengerang.

Facilities Management.

My personal thought is if it pays good why not.. just earn a big chunk of money first. After rapid you may have better opportunity on other regions outside of malaysia.

Met them last week, very touch time now i think, small piece of cake to be shared. They are fighting for the RAPID MOGAS EURO5, Malaysia Refinery Diesel Euro5. Heard 7 EPCs bidding for the MRDE5. Anyone hear about HIJAU2 project by HRC?

HR asks for salary history / payslip. should we share?

I've read that a good HR dont need your salary history to come up with a good package and only reason they want this is to lowball the offer. verifying your salary or comparing what you stated as your target is another thing but do they need your past salaries for that when they know for sure whats the market worth at the time.

so should we provide them with it or politely decline and see what happems after that?

hope the otais can help me on this. pm's are also  welcomed. im kinda stumped on how to reply them back when they start quoting 'you share salary on loan application bla bla'
*
QUOTE(nakjadiDE @ Nov 28 2017, 09:45 AM)
i hope this can be shared with everyone. I also would love to learn what are the best options for this situation wink.gif
*
QUOTE(Stamp @ Nov 28 2017, 11:02 AM)
I would politely decline to provide my payslip to the recruiter. I would say, it is a P&C document, and I would tell the recruiter to give me the offer instead.
*
instead of declining which reduces your chances of getting hired, you can just say you will share once you're hired. Just say your current employer strictly prohibits your salary being reveal to others on your employment.

another question to add, should we put our current remuneration figures on our CV?
*
I would recommend you do not put.

QUOTE(NearN @ Nov 29 2017, 09:36 AM)
i think one of the reason the HR ask their salary is to lowball the candidate or he got another best candidate on par ,so he try to get the cheapest option.isn't?like it or not,i think the HR still want the figure correctly,we would not like it,but some of them "work" like this hahaha,in order to proceed with the hiring, they still need the data, plus its still the employer market,so be careful.#my2cent
*
yes and no answer. Yes, some do try to lowball if they have the advantage. No, they're might a pay bracket for the role. If you're current pay is higher than the max pay willing to offer, HR would just save the trouble, time and slash you of the list and concentrate on other candidates. The idea of not revealing your pay is to keep yourself on the shortlist and have the employer to offer their best offer. if they provide a much higher pay, congratulations, you've hit the jackpot, if not, then negotiate or move on. That's all.

If you are call for an interview and they required you to bring copies of 3 months payslip, how can we decline to provide this in order not to enclose our current salary?
*
Depends on who is desperate. Whether they are desperate to hire you which you have the calling power to decline on showing or you're desperate and need to give them the slip or run the risk of not getting short listed.

alternatively if they insist, you can prepare two sets of payslip. One is a blanked out payslip and maintain that its confidential and to show that you're currently hired. Just tell them this is your current employer's rule. Showing your wage will run the risk of getting terminated. And unless there's a confirmation letter from your potential employee, you cannot reveal them. Try to bargain your way through. If you're desperate, then the only option is to show your last card, which i think will get the HR to slash down your current expected salary.

Ask the interviewer. Ask us also we don't know. Depends on the hiring manager whether there is urgency or not lo...

Hi All, i got an offer from MMHE in corporate office department. understand oil and gas company is not a good company to join at the moment. i have no experience in this industry. appreciate your kind feedback is it worth to go? thanks
*
If the offer is good why not? MMHE is the subsidiary for petronas, you go figure... You got anything to lose if you jump ship?

I only know when I was young they were tycoons and rich family. I think back then they were heavily involved with timber.

Agreed, i havent got one single intw this year. Been working in O&G for 6 years already......so what is the possibility of me landing a new job? Basically ZERO.

Planning to do food truck business as we speak. Do my own stuff and stop letting other people decide my future. Ini pergi intw pun rasa mcm nk mintak makan dgn depa interviewers.

Does it even matter? Sharing other information enriches your knowledge in the industry. when you stumble across the next interview, there may be subjects which talks on recent events share in this thread. this is not a billboard pasting job vacancy, we have that on the service noticeboard section.
