QUOTE(sangarjuna @ Mar 21 2018, 11:48 PM) guys, recently 5 companies (Dayang, Petra, Deleum, Carimin, Sapura+BorneoSea) awarded by PCSB for MCM. Anyone know on what basis the segregation of the contract? Territory basis (East Msia, West Msia, SKG, SKO, PMA, SBA)? Or on workscope/expertise basis? QUOTE KUALA LUMPUR: Petra Energy Bhd has emerged as one of the companies that have secured a maintenance, construction and modification (MCM) service contract from Petronas Carigali, with its work package focusing on offshore Sabah. https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...-from-petronas/It joins other listed firms that have won MCM contracts earlier this year, which include Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd (offshore - Sarawak oil), Carimin Petroleum Bhd (offshore - Peninsular Malaysia oil) and Deleum Bhd (offshore - Peninsular Malaysia gas). edit:stupid copypaste This post has been edited by raclette: Mar 22 2018, 10:11 PM |

i'm guessing valves supplied didnt meet project specs/scope of work or performance as required. I believe they had some exotic materials on that platform. Due to valves are long lead item and in order to meet dateline for project delivery, they had to accept them as is with condition and cost impact. Hence replacements need to be done in the near future. Its either the platform will be underutilised or the valves couldnt meet intended design life time. All of that future cost incurred are charged back to MMHE.
I'm in no way an expert but they must be kind of stupid if they intentionally used imitation valves. its like first line of safety protection and a guarantee to the process flow performance isnt it? i've encountered however valves which were having a brand name that is similar to a well known brand. We only realize this model doesnt exist in their catalogue when we inquired for spare parts.. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Mar 21 2019, 12:25 PM) 1 of the KBB valve package from 1 supplier was all AAA grade or fake valves they said. Means the valve was repackaged with inferior internal parts, but the outside and the stamp is the company valve. The orignal company claimed that they does not have such parts number exist in their system. Oh my |
