The problem is, no matter wad brand, Sony, HP, Compaq, Toshiba or bla bla i try so far, they run damn slow on preloaded Vista even the spec is C2C 1.66Ghz with 1Gb ram. The windows boot up and shut down is slow like snail even my p4 HT with XP can beat it kau kau one.. QUOTE The new Network Map in Windows Vista allows you to easily create a map of all computers on your network and see how they are connected. This works by using the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol that is only part of Windows Vista.
To help users of mixed environments of both Windows Vista and Windows XP, Microsoft has released the Link Layer Topology Discovery Responder for Windows XP. This will make your Windows XP computers show up in the Network Map in Windows Vista.
This package contains the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) responder. The network map on a computer running Windows Vista shows a graphical view of the computers and devices on your network and how they are connected by using the LLTD protocol. The LLTD responder must be installed on a computer running Windows XP before it can be detected and appear on the network map. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer. Click here to download the update for Windows XP SP2

Ultimate and Business has not much difference really, just Ultimate is basically Business + Home Premium rolled into one. Yes, you can run Ultimate on ur rig

Thats not true... my compaq presario m2220ap (Pentium M 1.73Ghz) boots my vista business edition very fast. Even faster than my windows xp on my athlon64 3000+ desktop

Heck no.. even with 768mb of ram P4 3ghz, i would say Vista is acceptable already, 1GB is optimum, and 2GB is too much
* If u isnt considering dreamscene

my vista has all those eye candies and only using 768mb of ram, i still can run apps fine w/o any lags.. the only time lagging is only when my hdd space is full, other than that its working completely fine
