if value of good is less than RM500, it'll be delivered directly to your doorsteps
(however also dependent of type of product u buy)

Hello,

Pretty sure it is less than RM500, but according to laptab, there is a 10% tax on this item, so i'm worried if I would need to go all the way to KLIA to pay and release the item or our local post office guys can do it for us and we just pay them at the pos office outlet?

http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-514C-Compo...ywords=hbf+514c

Planning to purchase this item above.

Anyone can help?

THank you!

this will be my first time to purchase something from Amazon ... I may have to proceeds with the purchase, however i'm quite worried if:

got other possibility of additional charges from the customs (eg: fines) or 15% is the maximum tax?

FYI, I'm going to purchase a headphone from amazon Japan

Thank you

that is maximum and total tax for headphone/earphone enforced and authorized by customs laws. Any unauthorized tax charges (e.g. more than what it should be) is refundable (if you have a proof e.g. invoice from seller, freight, customs tax receipt, etc).

Hello. I've purchased a book from barnes and nobles 3 yrs back and another item from Ebay 3 months ago, both from United States. I have yet to receive both of my purchase and did not receive any letter from custom. How and where do I check if there is any way I can retrieve my things? Thank you!

Hi guys, I planned to get some native languaged original movie DVDs from India. 2 reasons why I want to get these DVDs from india :

1) They are not available in Malaysia
2) They are way cheaper, at about RM9/DVD

However, after include postage, for 20 DVDs, the estimate price is about RM360. And reading previous comments, even though the amount is less than RM500, but I would have to pay 10% for tax as it is for resell.

The question I want to ask is, is it legal to bring in DVD movies in that manner, because normally any distributed movies brought in to Malaysia will go through Malaysian Board of Censorship first before approved for selling here. These are just normal movies, but will it have any other problem (non-related with tax) at the custom's office?

Thanks.

Upon searching the forums, I found this

Please read the whole thread. I have answered questions before, I did answer your question I already said China is not in ASEAN so it is not exempted from tax. And regarding dvds, read the first page, you answered the question earlier yourself including others who answered.

DVD-R or ANY computer products are not taxable. If you want to see how many people I have helped you should ask them, alot pmed me and msn me to ask questions.

DVD movies are taxed.

Finas is optional, go to your kastam and give them extra RM50 that will save you all the trouble.

If anyone is asking why the taxes are so high and stuff, it is there to protect the local manufacturers, not because the government wants to suck your money.

Anything with the kastams can be argued you just need to bring in someone powerful, you just need that powerful person to make a call thats all. If you know your local ADUN, MCA, UMNO you can tell them to help you. My friend imports bag from China tax free with some help.

I found more mistake on your side but I decided NOT to argue with you but if you want to continue so may it be.

But I am still not sure can bring any movie as long not the banned or x-rated.. Is there a guidline for this? Thanks..

Hi,

I have a parcel sent from Taiwan to Labuan (free trade zone), will it stop by custom/ get taxed? Only 5 pieces of clothes and 1 pair of shoes.

I'm kinda worried as it's a free trade zone.

Anyone experience this before?

Thanks!
