Books need to be specific type, e.g. Encyclopaedia, Dictionary, etc. Printed books (490199) don't have any tax/duty.

Nope. It will tell u the latest status of the delivery process from US to M'sia.

Added on May 15, 2008, 8:14 pm

normally if your phone send by courier service(CS), this CS company will call u & instruct u to get AP.U must go to sirim and pay for AP ( normally this AP around 215)after that u must send that AP to CS company. CS company will use this AP for custom clearance and pay custom tax (normally 10%) if u buy phone 500.tax is 50, and back charge to u when CS company send this item to u. so total cost for your phone 500+215+50. i suggest if phone available in malaysia better buy in malaysia. if this phone declare as gift, it's depend on luck. if u lucky, u don't need to pay custom & AP
SIRIM will charge RM215 for total shipment? or per piece?

i heard SIRIM sold Pre-stickers that we can put on the items before shipping in to malaysia?

Hello everyone,

May I know where is it that I can find a full list of import duties imposed on imported items?

For e.g.
Sunglasses (900410): tax & duty 0%.
Wrist watch (heading 9101): tax & duty 0%.
Jeans/trousers from cotton;
for men/boy (620342): total tax 10%
for women/girl (620462): total tax 10%.

is there a website with a full list?

I am planning to purchase a weighing scale from amazon and I wonder if there is going to be any tax & duty?

please advise, thank you!!

Weighing Scale; 8423.10.0000 Personal weighing machines, including baby scales;
household scales: total tax 10%.

For source of tax duty & goods classification, I use DagangNet & Fedex Business Global Trade Manager which is accessable by registered user only.
For public accessable websites, you may use DutyCalculator.com together with tariff.customs.gov.my.

hi thank you for your reply!

If, for example, i purchase it directly from Amazon to have it shipped to Malaysia, do I need to personally collect/pay in KLIA or I just need to pay it to the post office to release my item?

if value of good is less than RM500, it'll be delivered directly to your doorsteps
(however also dependent of type of product u buy)
