I went to that Pejabat Pos Unit Tahanan Kastam at Bagan Dalam, Butterworth last friday. They tell me to fill the JK 69 Form which priced at RM5 and he tell me to go search for some1 that give typing service which located behind the Dato Abdullah Ahmad Badawi field at Bagan Luar and the fee is also RM5. Then at 2.45pm i went back to the post office to give the form, then he said that the form needed to be submitted to MITI which located in Bangunan Tuanku Syed Putra, Penang.
I want to ask you Eralus, after my JK69 form has been approved by the MITI, any other thing i need to do before i can get my helmet?

base on custom tariff website its 10%(sales tax) and non for import duty <----- 'non for for import duty' what this means btw?

thank you in advance smile.gif

so you settle the tax yourself or someone else do it for you?

My shipment came through Fedex, so they had already paid for the tax (so by the time the shipment comes to the house, its just a matter of paying them back). In the case of the 30% tax, I rejected the shipment, so that shipper had to pay for tax (I emailed the shipper and they acknowledged that they had made the mistake, so I guess that's why they agreed to absorb the tax)

If you do have doubt, you could try to get taxed yourself smile.gif That's kinda how I found out about the way things were done.

Though not everything gets taxed. I had a big/heavy shipment before CNY, which the value of the item was clearly stated on the invoice (USD ~170) and it didn't get taxed

10% of it.

I recently get charged for 2 times when I purchase used toys from Japan, and the latest one, even RM 120/ 4000 yen something also got taxed, guess I need to have a call the post office again.

Sent an email to the CSC of Pos Malaysia and wanted to know how they determine the item to be taxed too.

Based on my previous experience in buying tons of MTG cards from ebay (I assumed yours are something similar), no, I don't think you'll be taxed for them nor do you need to fill up any declaration. They will reach you, just wait.

Any restriction on importing a couple of cases over from the States?

Thanks in advance bros and apologies if this has been discussed in the past!

Hi there,

My friend has sent back some of my purchases (mainly small leather goods) and had mistakenly declared it as USD500 instead of RM500 under gift. I am prepared to be taxed on this but just to know, how many % of taxes will be levied upon my purchases? Further, will I be able to clear the custom without invoice? Because all these items have been purchased for a long time and it is only until recently that I have decided to get my friend to send it back to me.

Thanks in advance for the replies.
