The item is a toy action figure (around 30cm in height), less than RM100. From what I've read here so far, toys/action figure will not be taxable?

QUOTE(bbjslee @ Jul 5 2008, 01:47 PM) How many qty you are planning to bring in? Thanks alot for the info! Toys/action figure are subjected to 5% import duty & 10% sales tax. How are you bringing it it? There's an exemption clause: (i) that the goods are imported by any person using air courier service through the following international airports - (a) kuala lumpur international airport, using sepang air cargo express; (b) bayan lepas (penang); © senai (johore bahru); (d) kota kinabalu; (e) kuching; and (f) subang; (ii) that the goods imported are of a total value not exceeding rm500.00 per consignment CIF With that clause you won't need to pay any duy & tax. Forgotten to add: excluding cigarettes, tobacco and intoxicating liquor. It's only one item and most probably, through registered airmail. |

Hi, just another question here, in the event where the item is being held by the customs, will they be notifying us, and how? (if we don't have any tracking info of the shipment). Would labeling the item as 'gift' has any difference in regards to tax?

Since the condition I checked few minutes ago was [Arrived at inward OE/Receive item at OE - KLIA] and im in penang, georgetown? 2. is there any tax or custom payment that i need to cleared or doc i need to prepared? actually i'm from indonesia, just stay here for studying but, im not quite clear with the procedure in this country since, this is also my 1st purchase. Please assist me and Thanks before. |
