Agree on this. Especially with a baby and there is a change of weather between Malaysia and Japan, its better to be safe than sorry. As its your first day of vacation, better to get your baby and family back to the hotel safely and well rested. Dont forget you also have two big luggage and you also need to carry it around. So better pay a bit more for a taxi.

thx for the tips, my bus trip is midnight and not able to catch the last train so taxi is my last option.

need to dig deeper, so far only found route to ikebukuro which i nearest to Itabashi. after it will take taxi by using tokyo taxi app. thx for the option which work for me at least no need pay so high price for direct taxi.

I experienced this. In 1 coach, got 3 people vomitted. Too drunk i guess the smell in the coach, erghhhhhhhhhh

Hi everyone, i never been to Japan and i am planning to go Japan in this coming september with my mum. Not sure which part of the Japan to go yet, but it will be better to join Japan tour for the first time. Anyone can recommend which travel agency offer the best service and price reasonable? Please advice

Hi there, is budget a concern? And what are you looking forward to do in this trip? Eg shopping or food trip? How much is your budget per pax?

Most of us here DIY our trips, meaning we do research beforehand and plan our itinerary ahead. That saves money and you can take your time to enjoy or walk at your own pace. Also depending on how old your mum is - whether she's able to walk and take train following your pace or she has to take frequent breaks (with this, tour is better). Just want to understand more before any of us give any recommendation(s).

I actually prefer to DIY, but since i never been to Japan. It will be very difficult to plan for the first time, plus recently my works are overloaded.
So, we decided to signup tour package from travel agency. Next time will be DIY then
and Yep, my mum is still can walk, run and jump.

for shopping n foods i dun really recommend following tour, will be quite a waste of money. japan is by far one of the easiest country to visit even if u cant speak japanese, can easily plan out an itinerary in less than a week.
plus u will get all sort of advise n tips from this thread as well as recommended places to shop or eat.

sometime diy is not necessary cheaper and no 5star hotel too

the oni thing u missed out is miss the chance to interact with local ppl and ther culture... learn to buy mrt ticket... party until morning or sleep until noon...

if u wan to shop, make ur purchase at premium outlet or target the the japanese's brand tat is not available in msia.

Tour often have compulsory shopping at designated merchants where I'm not able to tolerate on this.

I'm for the DIY since you specifically mentioned Eat & Shop. What I'd do is below if I'm in your shoes.

1. Roughly plan what to eat and shop.
2. Ask recommendation where to get in (1).
3. Decide on region(Kansai/Hokkaido/Kanto/Tohoku etc)
4. Find out more on food/attraction in that region.
5. Decide number of days annual leaves to apply.
6. Plan itinerary.
7. Book flight/accommodation.
8. Wait for epic tummy tour.

Regarding keisei line from Narita airport to Nippori will it be very busy around 4.30pm to 6pm? My flight arrive 3.40pm and destination to Komagome Station. Or else could go with the expensive option narita skyliner straight to Nippori.

While I always root for DIY, I understand your situation. First time to any country (that don't remotely looks like KL) can be overwhelming and confusing. Since you have decided on tour, I agree with it as well. Not just itinerary, but Japan requires extensive research if you plan to walk around on your own. I doubt I'll be able to go around on my own, had it not been my friends who led the trip in my first visit. Because they brought me around and I experienced the place, I was able to plan my 2nd and 3rd trip without worry. Its because I know what to expect.

For recommendation of agency, I'll root for Mayflower. Honestly speaking, I liaise with Mayflower on many occasions for event, trips (work related) and they are very professional. I'm not sure how much it'll cost for your trip to Japan, but you can rest assured that things are well taken care of with Mayflower. And they work transparently, so you don't have to worry about any hidden cost.

Last but not least, with your budget, go for packages with more Free & Easy. That will enable you to enjoy shopping and food more leisurely.

i find KL harder than any other country tht i've been to b4. i still dunno the road around KL...not even all those highways name like sprint n so on
