Holy Cow, that is alot of hashing power there!

On a side note, due to the lack of graphic cards on the market. How can we build new rigs for mining purpose? Would like to try to build 1 (eta cost 3-5k?) to try out this interesting mining works.
*
Might able to get as whole rig, some shop sell whole mining rig, but not willing to sell individual parts.

QUOTE(ethminerlowyat @ Jun 29 2017, 02:58 PM)
Basically all the GTX1060, GTX1070, PSU, even BTC motherboard are either cleaned up or price marked up like hell.
Those who are late to the party or have no idea how mining works will always complain that it aint profitable due to the difficulty increase bla bla bla.

There are always other crypto to mine, if ETH is unprofitable .

Heck, if following their logic, ETH was not profitable at all because the prices were around 10-20usd back then, can barely cover electricity costs, then nobody will mine.

If you dont have the guts to mine, then dont bother. Been mining since 2013 and its the best thing that happened in my life.

so have to buy all the over priced GPU is the way to become a miner smile.gif no need to hide mate. im just trying to warn ppl about the risk about mining, not stopping them from mining. if you started 2013, you should know what happen after mining LTC died... mine other coins ? i guess 2 years nth much interesting until ETH arrived. another example is mining ETH, very profitable until DAO hack and fork... one whole year with min profit (AKA enuff to pay bill). so if ETH POS here and now, there might be another 2~3 years or god knows how long for another profitable coins may come. One should be honest and responsible about their speech. mining is profitable now, but at the same time need to be aware of the risk that may come with it. talking newbies about how profitable or easy to make money without telling them the risk is being irresponsible but yet nothing wrong with it. but sadly, im not that kind of guy. For newb, always invest what u can afford to lose not selling your house just because some idiot told you that you can ROI within 3 or 4 months or mine to keeep bla bla bla. ETH price can rise from 20 USD to 400 USD within 2 months but at the same time it can drop from 400 usd to 200usd within a week or less.

Correct. It might look like you earn only abit now, I was getting like 5-6mBTC on nicehash on 2014 and now they are like rm10 per mBTC

Bitcoin that I hold last year already 4x in value.

Do you guys know Siacoin,
You rent your storage to other about 2USD per TB and you get paid in Siacoin. If you lose data then you lose your coins.

BTW 100TB is nearly 200usd and is easily scaled up. Buy industrial grade HDD to reduce the risk of losing data.

lol go ahead, i dont care whether other people make money or not.

if you worry about cypto dropping in value, then you should bother investing or mining , simple. Invest what you can afford to lose. research from front to end and understand the risks.
Mining can be another form of getting started in crypto, i started that way. It deepened my understanding in it, how it all worked. Don't be that guy who always think short term.
*
so it was really you hahaha! welcome, please help other the miner wannabe instead of trying to take advantages of them! short term mid term or watever term you wanna name it, i care less when one are aware what they are jumping into. dont talk like its 100% gain without any risk, if you are holding it for long term. i guess you should be worth over 10mil usd now!!! 100usd worth of BTC back in 2010 era is like 4 5 mil USD now? anyway, keep on the good work for helping miner wannabe mate.

lol, sounds like the story of the fox and the grapes.

Sure bro, whatever floats your boat. I've been selling and using my BTC for years now, no need to get pissy bout my net worth.

Good luck finding any hardware for the next few months if you wanna mine smile.gif all the distributors in Malaysia have a super long back order (ps. its not from new miners  wink.gif )
*
nah its okay, i have a few rigs as a small time miner and quite a numbers on order list long ago. mining is not my day job, i just enjoy playing with it with my extra cash and place. so why the smurf account? i tot you were more successful with all your long term btc strategy, but i guess i was wrong... simple as that.

Also being afraid of PoS happening within this year is pretty dumb.

The Ethereum foundation owns %30 of all ether. They own no mining rigs. So they are not getting any of the new ether. After the switch to PoS, they will get the lion share of the rewards.

Plus they will incentivize people to lock up their ether, drying up liquidity.
It's pure greed. If it happens, ETH will be garbage.

Dont forget that its not secure at all, prone to 51% attack win.

its not about worring, its informing that casper will be here sooner or later. being responsible is the key word.

I don't recommend cloud mining AT ALL. Why don't the companies run the miners themselves if it's profitable?

I am with Hashflare for 6 months and I have got back my capital a month ago.
Everyday my daily mining output is pure profit.
It is a lifetime contract.
You do the math. biggrin.gif

You must know which cloud mining corporation to invest in.
Only Genesis Mining and Hashflare have proven track record over the years.

Their Bitcoin Lifetime (Scrypt) mining contract.
Don't choose the SHA-256 mining algorithm.
ALWAYS choose SCRYPT.
