PREFACE
Today, there is very much a digital gold rush where people can make a small profit by investing a few hundred dollars in equipment, and then spend months mining for digital coins before any return on their investment sets in
What is this Mining thing?
mining are all about solving mathematical problems, which in turn act as raffle tickets. Each problem solved is called a 'proof of work' result, and counts as one raffle ticket Every time a predetermined quantity of proof-of-work results is generated, the system draws a raffle number, and one proof-of-work result is awarded a block of new coin.
Every miner who contributed to solving that particular block will get some kind of proportionate share of the rewards [pool]
How Cryptocoin Mining Works then?
The whole focus of mining is to accomplish three things:
1.Provide bookkeeping services to the coin network. Mining is essentially 24/7 computer accounting called 'verifying transactions'.
2. Get paid a small reward for your accounting services by receiving fractions of coins every couple of days.
3. Keep your personal costs down, including electricity and hardware.
Is It Worth It to Mine?
This is really subjective. Currently, the entry cost is expensive, and parts are scare. If you already have the hardware, u can mine as a hobby for a small change. $1-2 dollars a day. Mine and keep. If you have the dough, good, go for the best spec u can get, granted u can find those GPUs
Some argues that, if one's objective is to earn substantial money as a second income, then you are better off purchasing coins with cash instead of mining them.
OK sure, tell me what i need to do to mine?
1. Wallet - software. Can open exchange Wallet (not recommended) or download multiple wallets like Jaxx
2. mining software package, u have Minergate, CGminer, Claymore etc. 3. Account in mining pool, which is a community of miners who combine their computers to increase profitability and income stability.
4. Online currency exchange, where you can exchange your virtual coins for conventional cash, and vice versa. Example poloniex.com.
5. A reliable full time internet connection
6. A desktop or custom-built computer designed for mining, called Mining RIG. Yes, you may use your current computer to start, but you won't be able to use the computer while the miner is running. A separate dedicated computer is ideal. Tip: Do not use a laptop, gaming console or handheld device to mine. These devices are not effective enough to generate income. The GPU will be the workhorse of providing the accounting services and mining work. Obvious choice is NVIDIA and AMD
7. A house fan to blow cool air across your mining computer. Mining generates substantial heat, and cooling the hardware is critical for your success.
8. Personal curiosity. You absolutely need a strong appetite for reading and constant learning, as there are ongoing technology changes and new techniques for optimizing coin mining results. The most successful coin miners spend hours every week studying the best ways to adjust and improve their coin mining performance.
MAIN SECTIONS
1. HARDWARE - rig, motherboard, GPU, PowerSupply, Overclocking, Wallet 2. SOFTWARE - Mining software, OS, BIOS Mod, Optimization, Wallet, ASIC Miner, CBU Miners 3. Database - Hashrate actual, Mining Pool

QUOTE(calvin @ Jun 19 2017, 08:55 PM) I'm doing ETH mining on Azure using Ethminer with 2x Tesla M60s but the hashrate is like around the 30-40MH/s region. Is this considered expected ? wow, that is good. how much you paid?

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 20 2017, 12:52 AM) Parts are not exactly scarce, only the AMD cards are. Nvidia cards still plenty around. Also, see if my videos are alright to be used. Don't necessarily have to embed because embed takes up space. Can just put link. *I can edit 1st post but I'd rather the TS do the changes* quick typo error. what i meant was GPU both NVIDIA and AMD A walk today in LOWYAT shows no capable GPU at a good price range. everything now pre-order. one shop ask me MOQ is 60 units. WHATT? Who want to get 6x1080 for mining?

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 20 2017, 02:26 AM) That bad? Anyway if people are getting GTX 1050 Ti, they can consider GTX 1080. Their efficiency level same when doing ZEC. The better ones are the GTX 1060 6GB and GTX 1070. I sold off my GTX 1070 last week so didn't get to test but new one should be in soon. GTX 1060 6GB on the other hand, it's here just that I haven't run it. Last week when I was at Low Yat Plaza, cards are still plenty. You go 2nd floor TopMaid or Czone for example, still a lot. Lelong also still have many Nvidia cards, they're not marked up like AMD cards and still do give good hash. In Lelong, i called all of them. No stock, those are just click-bait to make u happy. TopMaid don't have 1060,1070. Sold out (or being booked) CZONE selling 3gb Model at inflated price. MSI Armor 1060 6gb is excellent choice but price is 1450. It run 23 Mh/s ETH mining. +100 Core Clock, +800 Memory. This baby having SAMSUNG memory, which are well known for OC friendly.

QUOTE(okboon15 @ Jun 20 2017, 01:12 PM) Algo = DaggerHashimoto, maintain at +/- 11.5MH/s The earning is about USD2 per day. That's good earning. Buy hardware wallet, keep it inside. Sell once it grew, else u die paying for transfer fees to exchange

QUOTE(okboon15 @ Jun 20 2017, 03:04 PM) any hardware wallet available in Malaysia? Btw, is it real that all GPU out of stock even in lowyat? Last week was looking for RX480, lowyat said whole market no stock. Thus looking for alternative like GET 1070 or 1060. saw it in Garage Zone, and also on Mudah. AMD 470.480 sold out worldwide. Get 1060 as 1070 is now being manipulated, as 1070 is the next best GPU on cost vs watt vs profitability.

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 20 2017, 05:59 PM) I haven't been reading much about card comparison but for GTX 1050 Ti I did compare with my friend at a shop. Zotac 1050 Ti Mini for example, does better than my Colorful GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (non-IGame version) and both of them are better than my ASUS Expedition GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. did u managed to capture the ETH mining hashrate for this little Zotac? Non-modded, should run about 9MH/s?

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 20 2017, 06:20 PM) My ASUS GTX 1050 Ti Expedition - 10 - 11 range. Colorful GTX 1050 Ti (non-iGame) - around 12 Zotac GTX 1060 Ti Mini - around 13 - 14. All non-modded. And for those who are interested, my GTX 970M mobile GPU runs at around 11 Mh/s too. good result. will collect this. ' Zotac M 1060 only 13-14? I can now confirm RX560 4gb Sapphire run 12Mh/s out of box

QUOTE(raynman @ Jun 20 2017, 06:23 PM) Sorry for the interruption, but when you are talking about hashrates in MH/s, which mining algorithm are you referring to? SHA-256, Scrypt, ETHash, X11, etc. best overall still ETH, second is ZEC (if your babies is NVidia)

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 20 2017, 06:32 PM) That's about 4x GTX 1050 Ti too. How's the power draw? My 4x GTX 1050 Ti comes to about 44Mh/s, wall draw about 240 (Actual draw is less than 220W for the cards in total). have no meter, cannot tell. In Lazada, Power monitor is selling quite cheap, delivery is next 2 weeks. based on software, the indicated power draw is 62W.

So, u setup 2 rigs, with 12 cards RX560 (4gb)
6*70W + others peripherals = ~500W
Cost is about 7000RM per rig. Total is 14K and u have 145MH/s stock, modded will gives u 168Mh/s
U can now laugh off to those greedy people selling rig with RX570/580 near 20K each... 1000W, Hashrate is 170 on average

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 21 2017, 12:14 AM) Basically any board can be used for mining. Just that for those to put risers and up to 6 rigs - you'll have to look for ASRock and Biostar boards. BIOSTAR TB250 or ASRock H81 Pro BTC ASRock H110 Pro BTC coming. Typo there, up to 6 risers... Can we use 4 port USB out per Pci-e. That is a lot of GPU can be supported. Ensure PSU is good.
