Hi,

Anyone with experience in rotary buffer (eg Makita 9227C/9237C)?

I got a few 7" polishing pads and compounding pads. wondering whether I should get a SKIL for RM299 or so, or midrange Hitachi, or bite the bullet for Makita.

Besides polishing/compounding work, is it suitable to be used as a sander for wood?

Need advise. I got a Black & Decker 710W KR704REK which I redeemed with my credit card points about 10 years ago.

Is this model good enough for drilling concrete wall?

I am not sure if I used the wrong type of drill bit. I find it tough to drill concrete wall.

Thanks.

Always refer back to their tech spec here

This machine can do masonry up to 13mm hole diameter and always use the correct drill bit to do the job.

Hi Sifus,

I wanted to buy a drill for all around use (into my condo wall etc.)

Im looking at this: Bosch GSB 180-LI. Do you guys think this is strong enough for concrete wall? Or do you have other suggestion?

Thanks!

I'm using that for my DIY Home Renovation. So far, it can cater for all my usage. Drill concrete for brackets, ceiling, wooden frame, etc..

As long as your holes doesn't not exceed the specification shown, it's good..

To make it simple. Normal hammer drill is like you hold a nail with a plier then HIT THE PLIER instead of the nail with a hand-held hammer.

While with SDS system you are holding a nail with a plier and hitting right behind the nail.

Adding to that, if you look from engineering perspective, there are so much inefficiency in normal hammer drill. It is actually a face gear bumping onto another. Thus produce a lot friction. It will be worn and used-up fast.

One big difference you can notice is the impact rate between these two systems.

SDS referes to the bit mechanism

What you are explaing is the rotary function

You don't think all seller sell thing online is cheap.

It is just convenient. But never be cheap.

Probably encourage you to buy at their shop.

In shop, collect cash. No additional fee or 3rd party like online. No courier fee. No online website charge.
