Trust me, if you connect at 5Ghz and enabling the beamforming, it doesn't matter if it is N or AC protocol, the beamforming will improve the signal quality and bandwidth.

I am only sad beamforming isn't available for 2.4Ghz sad.gif

Some routers can activate beamforming for 2.4GHz though.

And I noticed 2.4Ghz beamforming capable router tends to cost arms and legs. shocking.gif

Yes bro, enterprise routers and the top end expensive home routers do cost more with beamforming.

If you mean the 2.4Ghz beamforming on Asus routers, it is non-standard so it wouldn't work with all clients and it even causes issue sometimes.

The only working 2.4Ghz beamforming I have experienced is on Ruckus APs but that's enterprise level in a totally different league. Consumer gears are not even close to the level of performance by enterprise AP. flex.gif

Agree with you there bro blacktubi. Enterprise networking devices are on a whole different level entirely, compared with home networking.

Bro, this is old news. See this thread and another TP Link thread on here. Solution is to either update your firmware to a beta firmware, or get a new router.

Hi, I have a Archer D9 from my streamyx time and now have upgraded to unifi.

I understood that the D9 can act as wireless router and compatible with unifi. However, when I try to set them up, the status keep showing "connecting...."and could not connect to the internet.

have updated to lastest firmware but it does not have the "unifi mode" like the C1200 provided by TM. also it does not allow me to change the VLAN setting while in router mode?

Any help is welcome and thank you.

Bro, the Archer D9 can’t act as a wireless router. It can if it has VLAN tagging capabilities but it doesn’t, so it can’t be used for Unifi. Get another router, to be used for Unifi. I recommend the C7 v4.

See the link here for a recommended seller, that I often use: https://www.lazada.com.my/tp-link-ac1750-wi...is-1774185.html

It mentions C7 v2 in the as, but it is V4.

Yes, you can claim directly from TM. Hope it won’t happen again, unless you request for a different router, which is the DIR-850L.

I don't think the Archer D9 can support on Unifi, but you can set it as secondary router or access point if you want, but to dial up Unifi, there is no VLan Tagging at Archer D9.

any reason why my archer C3150 suddenly got download speed dropped from average 150 mbps++ to 50++ mbps?

I realized it just few days, tried on speedtest on pc/and its apps also got the same thing. while the upload still ok maintain as usual 30++ mbps.

I tried to isolate it by switch off the WiFi from the physical switch, leaving only 1 connecting device to speedtest. the same thing.

the only solution is by reboot or off and on again. the first few minutes I can achieve the normal speed download 150 mbps++, then a few minutes later, the download speed reduced again to 50++ mbps, while the upload still ok.

i checked on the apps I dont see any device got heavy downloading at that time. all around few kB only.

Too many reasons why, could be a physical problem or a problem with TM. If this happens again, call TM to reset your port.
