Use Deco as Main Router.

M5 have the higher spec as compare to MR200 thus can works better as a main router with PPPOE setup, not an AP

Thanks for your input on whether should use my DECO M5 as Router or AP.

Can see that we I have both feedback suggesting me to set as Router and AP.

Currently My Setup as below:

1) Main DecoM5 connect with MR200 wireless 4G router with RJ45 cable (Deco M5 Setting as Router) on 1st floor.
2) 2nd DecoM5 located at ground floor

Current setting so far able to work.

I was wondering and I'm not sure if I use AP setting for Main DecoM5 will the speed and connection be better or stable or vice-versa compare to set as router.

Decos don't support 4G, hence setup as AP.

So far I'm able to connect Deco M5 to my MR200 4G router as Router setting.

I just follow the Deco App guideline to setup.

Hello, according to this, using AP mode will decrease the speed.
As the speed is determined by the main router as blacktubi discussed this on last few pages of this thread.

If the main router is capable of 800 mbps, no reason Deco's on AP mode can't reach 800 mbps on cable. If Wifi it's due to Wifi 5/6/AC/AX limit on Decos/devices. Unless they're firmware issues.

On my 500 mbps Unifi, if I connect my laptop & PC, both on cables, on 2 separated Decos, running iperf3 between them gets near Gigabit speed.

For me, I (almost) won't use my Deco as router as I don't need those fancy features eg parental control / antivirus. My existing router already has that and more.

anybody purchase TP-Link Archer TX3000E AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.0 PCIe Adapter, the device would gone missing after user manual sleep, system time-out sleep, restart, turn off & cold boot, tried to untick Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power at USB Host Controller, USB Root Hub, Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz, Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® . also tried to Power Options, USB Selective Suspend Disabled, PCI Express Link State Power Management Off, doesnt seem to fully work to fix such issue.

sometimes the Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 would reappear after wake up, restart, turn off & cold boot, sometimes wont.

tried to unplug and replug the PCIe Adapter and USB connecter for Bluetooth, doesn't seem to work.

the chipset is intel AX200, this chipset seem to have such issue, even with big branded laptop that came with such chipset.

my system is AMD Ryzen 2600, GIGABYTE B450 AORUS PRO.

Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® Package version = 22.10.0 & Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software 22.10.0 claim to fix such issue at changelog, but doesn't seem to work.

Hi guys, I'm X20 user here. one of my nodes is not pairing with my main deco. anyone facing the same issue? I've put them next to each other but still can't detect it. It is blinking in blue light and i can view it under my iPhone wifi connection list but it just couldn't pair with my main deco. I can connect directly to it but its showing no internet connection.

could it be faulty unit? other two nodes are working fine.

I had same scenario as yours with my Deco M5.
I brought to the shop I bought from within 7 days.
I managed to get 1to1 exchange, and now, my units work perfectly.

That means Deco can work as router behind your MR200 without double NAT error. Good to know that.
