Thinking of just one small piece of wood. Nothing too big.

Does guppy go well with shrimps?

Oo luckily i checked. I've read up on tank cycling.. but just need to clarify..

The soil goes in, the wood goes in? and a small number of fishes. I believe I can use the boraras to cycle the tank? Once the ammonia and nitrite levels are acceptable, then the plants goes in?

soil( what soil u going to use), stone( make sure use the right stone, no coral! wood in. filter up, water in. just leave it like that for 2-3 weeks.. if water is crowded , do water change..

then only plants in, till u see plants are healthy...

... then only fish in.. then snail in.. then shrimp in...

Thinking of using ADA Amazonia Aqua Soil and maybe decorative sand.

Not planning to use coral, so will look around for the right stone and i think ADA small driftwood. Ooo no fishies in?

I read from sites that the fishes you plan to put in the tank long term should go in as well during cycling. Still researching so dont mind if I tanya banyak2 smile.gif

ok if u using ADA soil, when the soil is new, it will pull the Ph down.. and its full with No, run ur filter and do WC, get a ph tester. just run with empty tank the cycling will start with that. and benefit bac will grow.

its the same, we only move in the house that had finished build smile.gif we don't stay in a house with no root hehe..

rocal is a big NONO in planted tank smile.gif , unless the ph is too low and u need to raise it up.

ph should be around 6.X smile.gif

is there any cover for ur tank. u hv to take out all the cover.. cover will be too hot for plants. they need temp below 28oC.

the filter u hv to change for sure.

it is better u run ur cycle for 2 weeks then u start to plant, then check for ur ph.. till it stable around 6.x then u can add fish. don't rush.

got photo for ur whole tank? what substract u using?

The soil I am using is Amazonia II 3L.

I notice my tank have this spider web thing growing between my plants. What causes it and is it harmfull?
Furthermore there is also a snail appearing in my tank.

i find the Genoah tanks are rather small. they look nice but they're less forgiving.

try getting something wider if possible, more surface area and also nicer to look at.

i've tried small tanks like that, even the smallest HOB filter i can find also make the water look like some whirlpool. end up have to use some plastic tree to disperse the waterfall so that the tank doesn't become a 24/7 fish threadmill.

some more using guppies, you know la how guppies fare on moving water.
