is there a reason why your tubes are around the front?

i would suggest you do 2 things to your tank

1. put a black tape on it's borders. it'll make the tank look nice, as if photo frame
2. put black background

my thoughts la. that's what i did with my tank and i loved the effect.

ok. that one preferential la.

cos for me, i don't like to see tubings in front or behind.

black background to make the tank look nicer, the color contrast of black background and the fish + deco (aquascape) will make a difference.

did you visit Pet World Malaysia 2008? smile.gif MY-MAC organized aqua-scaping competition.

i find the Genoah tanks are rather small. they look nice but they're less forgiving.

try getting something wider if possible, more surface area and also nicer to look at.

i've tried small tanks like that, even the smallest HOB filter i can find also make the water look like some whirlpool. end up have to use some plastic tree to disperse the waterfall so that the tank doesn't become a 24/7 fish threadmill.

some more using guppies, you know la how guppies fare on moving water.

actually keep shrimps alone also very nice already.

i thought of going into planted tank before but luckily i didn't la. biggrin.gif it would probably die in my hands.......or more like due to lack of my hands. hehe.

i already spent few K on fish hobby, thinking back - i could've have a 24-105L IS USM lens now if not for it. tongue.gif

Yikes! How come everything I am interested in ends up being expensive tongue.gif I have a tendency to kill things too but ermm.. maybe never know, this will be a success? tongue.gif

yes. i know you and some of the things you bought.

i come this thread and saw you posting, it's like WTH this fella's loaded!

biggrin.gif well planted tank was one of my consideration but after thinking about the soil / bed, fertilizer, lights, plants, CO2 blablabla............ i went marine. either way it's going to cost, but i went marine cos i wanna try out saltwater tank.

coz i using HOB, i need to fill the water level until the lips of the HOB filter... if not when the filter is running, water gushing out from the filter outlet will ruin the scape below it.... if u using external canister not necessary i guess...
that's the thing about hob and small tank. i have small tanks and even using those smaller hobs, they still create super current. sad.gif

can put some rock or plants or other deco to dampen the current.
