1st this filter is not suitable for planted tank. with the water flow in with air, it blow ur CO2 away. those brown n white ring in ur filter is all filter media, and bio-ring. it help you to keep the good/benefit bacterial in ur tank cycle.

how big is ur tank. if its a small tank less than 2 ft, its better u get a hang on back(HOB) filter.

My tank is a 1ft wide about 19l in volume. Come together with 2X8W lamp and build in filter.
According to the shop have to wait 2 weeks before putting fish inside the tank.

is there any cover for ur tank. u hv to take out all the cover.. cover will be too hot for plants. they need temp below 28oC.

the filter u hv to change for sure.

it is better u run ur cycle for 2 weeks then u start to plant, then check for ur ph.. till it stable around 6.x then u can add fish. don't rush.

got photo for ur whole tank? what substract u using?

Hehehe... damn simple. But you have Brighty K that makes the difference. I just transplanted a bushy Blyxa into my 6' nano, praying now that it grows. Dosing with half a root tab every 4 weeks.

this is my version of an "office nano" just started last week.

-roughly i tink about 1.5 liter.
-no fert or co2
-lighting-office's lights
- fauna-1 rasbora briggitae
-plants- flame moss on lava rocks.
-substrate-ADA Amazonia
Water change with a pipet, about 25% of water every week, going to try do it more often.
