Hi guys, first time post at here.
Currently I'm working in contract based job. Is it high possibility my credit card application will be rejected if I work in contract based job?
My friend is currently working in gov sector but contract based, higher salary than me, he applied a credit card early 2017, his credit card application is rejected by Citibank and CIMB if I'm not mistaken.
Is it hard for people like us to get the credit card due to our job status?

Is it hard for people like us to get the credit card due to our job status? My card with CIMB was approved when I was a contract staff in 2010, same goes to my M2Cards which was invited by Maybank in 2011. I know it certainly affects loan applications, I don't think so for credit cards. So long you can prove you have a fixed income and EPF statement, I think should be OK.

If I have negative balance in my credit card for about rm10k, can request the bank to issue a cheque to refund to me as I do not have saving account with them

Would like to ask general opinions here about the cashback. Currently, when my supplementary spends and receives cashback, it goes into my principal cards as credits instead of supplementary. Is this the normal practice? I am currently holding RHB cards. Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, SCB as well. You can call bank to transfer to your supplementary card, not sure if RHB can do it for future cash back as well. SCB cannot, principal has to call every month.

Thanks for replying so fast @fruitie. I am battling with them to get it done automatically but it seems their systems are 'fixed'. However, they are able to transfer from principal to supplementary if the principal calls.... Do you know any bank that credits cashback to supplementary? If there is a choice, I will switch. RHB cashback is quite low anyways.... QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 26 2017, 01:57 PM) Yes, SCB as well. QUOTE(newbiz2008 @ Aug 27 2017, 11:17 AM) Guys anyone get 5% cb on pertol pump on am carZ platinum cc? In order to maximize cash back, you have to leave some outstanding by not paying full. Well, you will be charged with interest anyway. Not many are interested with this card.

hello, wanna ask something. im using hong leong credit card, what will happened if by next statement my available limit is negative? will i get fine extra? the available limit is now positive but there is one more flexi payment few days before the statement which will cause the available limit to bcome a negative value.
i usually pay slightly more than the minimum amount when the statement came out, but this month went n repair car so ended up charging more again...

There is a chance the flexi payment may not be able to go thru and you'll be slapped with a big interest penalty. Paying minimum amount every month is like playing with fire and it's NOT advisable to own a credit card if you are not going to pay in full statement amount every month.

Hi, my credit card limit is RM3,000. But I am going to purchase a furniture which cost more than that. Just called HLB and the operator said I am not eligible to apply for temporary increase credit limit as I am new card holder. So if there is anyway I can do to get the credit limit increase? I ever read from 1 post, is it i will just transfer more money to the credit card, so the limit will increase? Let's say if I am buying a RM4,000 furniture. I will need to transfer RM1,000 in advance to the credit card. Then use the credit card to swipe RM4,000. Please advise. Thank you in advance.
