Why are Malaysian motorcyclist so fucking insane? This morning I almost got hit by a dude who used the highway entry ramp as the exit ramp [I was in the right, he was not] and before that i was lane filtering between a long line of car while maintaining some distance some distance between the motorcycle in front of me because my EX5 takes time to stop and I know this but the dude behind me kept blaring his horn for some reason even though I'm basically just maintaining speed?!

Then I switched lane because I needed to get on the ramp earlier in the story and the dude had to slow down anyway [WHICH WAS THE SPEED I WAS AT EARLIER WHEN I WAS LANE FILTERING] when he got to the motorcycle in front of me earlier.

Then on the way back home after work they just shoot into my lane while I'm lane filtering again causing me to slam on the rear brake and pump on my front brake quickly otherwise I would have crashed and yet I still almost skidded [IT WAS FUCKING RAINING WTF].

Not to mention the cars dear god. I was lane filtering on the highway again and gave the signal to move into their lane because i needed to use the exit ramp on the left. THE MOMENT I DID THAT THE FUCKING CAR WHO WAS MAINTAINING SPEED EARLIER MOVED IN FRONT TO BLOCK ME. Like without any warning whatsoever. This doesn't mention those that move slightly to the right when I'm on the left lane [Hey EX5, not modified so I'm slow.] when they see that I wanted to pass them.

Also does it hurt them to maintain speed instead of cutting me at the motorcycle lane on the toll area ENTRY. Like zuuuuuup, while I was on the speedbump, I'm not even slow since I'm almost mudguard to mudguard to the dude in front of me and he still had to slow down after passing me AGAIN.

WTF malaysia.

Many don't have licenses, got 'lesen terbang' and/or are just road bullies by nature. This goes for both cars and bikes.

During traffic jams, I've been harrassed by other riders for lanesplitting at slow speeds (around 30~40km/h if traffic is at standstill, which is my comfort zone). They will usually stay just behind my rear mudguard and flash their headlights or honk to pressure me to move aside or speed up - I never speed up. As soon as I see room to move aside, I let them pass. But if there's no room, too bad for them.

The more annoying ones are the ones who do this same tailgating maneuver to try to force me to speed up/move aside when on those single-lane motorcycle lanes that go around toll plazas. Those paths are narrow, and I usually slow down to about 40~50km/h, or even less if the road is wet. But there will be some riders who insist on taking those roads at 70km/h or above and 'layan corner' like they're on a circuit.

Being a defensive, safe rider in Malaysia is very difficult because of road users like these adding a layer of pressure. Just have to remind yourself that at the end of the day, the most skilled road rider is the one who gets home safe, not the one who gets home the fastest.

-Potong-
Exactly right?! After my first accident last month I learn to give signal amply to always double check that the coast are clear before committing [although sometimes I'm forced to use gear 3 at top speed suddenly because a fucking lori ayam just zooms into my lane crossing 3 lane in a few second.] The part about the single lane motorcyle on the toll are the worst, its a narrow road with non-slip paint that is actually slippier and they decide that's the time to pass us. It's hell.

One of the other worst thing is blantantly ignoring the red light as a group even though cars are about to move. They think theyre invincible or some shit in a group.

Duke highway entry from setapak into Duke got many such idiot motorcyclist.

On the highway, they would suddenly slow down to make a sharp U-turn to get onto this entry lane to get down into setapak, riding opposite direction.

One time I almost crash into one idiot like this when i was riding behind him on the slow lane. Out of the sudden he braked slow down to make this U-turn

Few years ago one motorcyclist for killed because of doing this... Then Duke highway put up a big sign board to warn. But useless.

The mock up race I joined couldn't even finish
That was my first track day at Pasir Gudang and I already fell twice, marshalled in with one more lap remaining as the other riders already overlap me lol

Same here. Especially the roundabout at Gurney Drive. Not only bikes doing u-turn, cars also doing it which causes more jam

Coz it is easy for them since there is no exit to that area from Duke.

Well said and it is more difficult for me to lane split due to my bike's size. I just ignore the tailgaters and honking or flashing lights and maintain the speed I am comfortable with because as you have said, the better rider is always the one who gets to reach home safely.

The discipline riders like me at times get harassed by reckless riders.

The max speed I do even I lane filter during traffic jam is max 50kmh++. There are times where kapchai riders horn horn at me... Ride close to me as if wanna knock me of the road. If I have the space ton let them go first, I'll do that. If not.. What else can I do ? I'm not going to lane filter at high speed.

Then when I stop at red lights... Bikes and cars will horn me asking me to move on red. Idiots.

When I ride on a proper lane following cars.... Some cars will tail gate me, not happy because I'm taking up the space on that lane.

Just dont bother about them. Ride at your own pace ( not road hog speed lah ). Its your own safety, heck with the others.

penang is not for human to ride lol....

i rather drive a car (or my brother drive a car) than just riding a bike... no signals, they usually turn left or right suddenly and most of the time will dare to do bumper to bumper.

but... riding on penang makes me really wary about traffic here in kl. i mean KL is quite mellow than penang in terms of aggressiveness in driving/riding.

Oh my... filter at your own pace. But I think it is a bit safer if you're in a train of motorcycles (but keep your distance with the front bike). I don't like to lead while filtering.
Just wondering, you sure the bike behind you honking his/her horn at you? I usually will use my horn while filtering, but not to ask the front bike to move aside, the honking is for the cars left and right. Sometimes they "makan" jalan a bit. But now that you've said it, maybe the motorcycle in front of me thought I honk dia sweat.gif

i get into the same situation too when filtering... bike behind me honking etc....

i immediately assume they are honking at the cars for awareness... if they were honking at me... i no care... i stick to where i am and u can overtake me as soon as theres space for u to overtake...

I get what you mean.

But on a few occasions these bikes behind like rev and surge forward as if wants to bang me out of the way. Aggressive manner. This is the harassment I'm taking about.

Those normal beep beep begins to warn cars, I can tell. I've been riding bike since 1999.
