Cager on Two wheels seem to have given it a pretty decent review though. Leoncino looks good!
*
cager should compare it with the tracer 700 that he is currently owning biggrin.gif

some feels that the price of trk in msia should be lower...

infos about benelli bike can be found at china bike forums like

Benelli, chances of getting a lemon is much higher maybe smile.gif

the competitor is CB500X,

Trk502 if not mistaken has ABS as standard.

price is RM28888, +gst is ~RM30621

cb500x abs + gst is RM35391

only less than 5k difference.

Weight, TRK502 is 235kg wet, cb500x is 194kg wet full tank.

Benelli have better specs.  Right?
*
well, cosmetically? it has better specs biggrin.gif

until it is proven that the features perform on par or better than the honda.

Trk502 has USD fork, twin radially mounted front calipers vs only one on the cb500x

handguards-wht do u call it?, gear indicator, jarum rpm meter, led light all round? laugh.gif

usb charger(i think), bigger windshield with bar for mounting phones etc,

2.5liter more petrol, better ekzos sound biggrin.gif

Not the kind of bike if you're pendek type of a person. 6' or higher recommended for those kind of bike.

*
these 2 bikes seat height are lower than the versys 650,

the trk is ~800mm-815, cb ~ 790-810? compare to versys 840mm

for those who are new to motorbikes, not all inline twin cylinder sounds the same.

here are some example.

180 degree firing inline twin - eg er6n/6f, versys650, z650 etc

270 degree firing inline twin - mt07, some triumph bikes

360 degree firing inline twin - BMW F800r , benelli trk502, leoncino, bn302

Kawasaki upgraded the ER6N to Z650 to compete with MT07.

In Malaysia, will the new Z650 out sell / be more popular than the MT07?

it will come down to price, which is more competitive.

quality wise should hv no problem, coming from kawa and yama.
*
over here is Msia, after gst price, not OTR

Z650 RM35609
MT07 RM36795

HLY even raise the price aft z650 announced, like they give a damn.

sure do ymh have a lot of supporters here. I think they dont even care

making ABS as an option for MT07.

z650 has ABS, slipper clutch, overall built and finishing seems better than the MT07 which

has alot of plastics covering the tank, etc.

so far have not seen z650 otr yet. maybe u can buy one and review..smile.gif
*
for my preference i will go for MT07,

just ranting here, share some infos, and to create discussion biggrin.gif

in Msia, unless u r buying BMW, Ducati, it is impossible to test a bike...

speaking of triple, the other day heard a mt09 pass by and thought it sounded like a car, the exhaust note biggrin.gif

there is a difference between 4inline and triple sound. most recorded youtube vid can't tell the difference,

but these vids of dyno session by scorpion exhaust shows it clearly.

check out the header sound of the new z900 with standard exhaust. biggrin.gif

compare it with a triple.

You can select the sissy mode on the handlebar to cut power and let the traction control prevent you from doing anything stupid with the throttle.

mt09 ckd for msia doesnt come with TC , ABS also no.

Are you really going to go for it? May I ask why naked/standard? A lot of people go for naked/standard nowadays instead of sportsbike. I do not understand. Can you explain. Is it the riding position? If it is because of riding position why not cruiser then?
*
actually, a faired bike is still favoured here in msia, also inline4 enjins, that is still the majority of mat motor mentality.

the naza blade 650, used to come in naked and faired. Naza stopped selling the naked version few years ago, permintaan kurang they said.

cruiser position is different, look at the vulcan S. the seat is very low, and your legs/ feet are in forward kangkang position. i personally don't prefer to ride like that biggrin.gif

As for the one-up category MT09, it seems that Yamaha has slapped on an engine that outdoes the body, making it too easy to accidentally pop a wheelie. I've not ridden one but i think I'll give that a miss for now. The MT10 also pretty damn sweet, but at RM115....?! Think not smile.gif
*
that mt09 jerky/snappy throttle ymh hav already updated the mapping,

latest 2017 version they improve the suspension as well.

the mt10 @ ah hong motor sentul, i heard it is just grey import from them,

not official CBU frm HLYM. HLYM never announce any CBU for mt10.

QUOTE(Mikahl @ May 10 2017, 06:26 PM)
On the topic of MT07, i understand the local models don't come equipped with ABS, ....is the ABS really gonna make a big difference? Some researchers in Australia think that ABS makes a 30 percent difference to your chances of an accident on a motorcycle.
*
well if the non abs mt07 is rm1-2k cheaper than z650, then i don't mind.

now no abs but more expensive, in EU they are priced the same, some country its either z650 or mt07 abit more

expensive, but both with ABS.

No new yet as to whether Boon Siew will be bringing it in or when it will be brought in.  The rebel 500 is direct competition to the Vulcan S from Kawasaki.
*
i think BS honda will have difficulty putting this rebel against the vulcan S.

vulcan CC higher, and the price after GST is already less than RM30K.

second hand vulcan can get at RM20k cash already.

unless one is a die hard fan of this bike's look....

i think this rebel design is really weird.... biggrin.gif
