Wanna to ask from LYNers..
1. What is the Salary Range for E2 Grade in Petronas..
2. Is there any additional allowance/technical allowances?When?
3. How many months the probation period? After that period, the pay will be increased?
4. What happen if you reject their offer?

I'm now waiting my offer letter..but I dont have any idea how they are going to offer me..

Hi All

Just want to ask a question, I just get a phone call from 1 of the PETRONAS OPU. She said it is a chit chat session (but it is only about 10 minutes). Anyone have an idea, the chances of getting the interview???

She didn't even ask about what I am doing now.. only ask about expected salary? how many years u can work here? how much time u need to come if we offer the job? rclxub.gif

Someone please advice. Thanks icon_question.gif

I really want this job besides the department suit me.

i will be entering final year next sem. and doing degree in geology.

i'll be searching for industrial training and PETRONAS does looks promising. i'm not into salaries much but i think i'm still young and experience is the most important thing. the question is, will PETRONAS be a good place to kick start my career in OnG? service comp.? do they really take only 1st class student (there's this rumours i've been hearing)?

i have a thing with offshore works. used to go candat sotong since i was a child tongue.gif

nope, for internship, 2nd upper is more than enough..
Show ur sincerity when u apply to them.

Advice to u is trying to apply directly to the OPU (eg: Petronas Carigali), but not through discover petronas website or HQ HR.

Good luck smile.gif

1. Based on year of experience, individual performance and etc so very hard to say the range.
2. No. But if you are based in East Malaysia, additional 10%.
3. 6 months and after the period, the pay will still be the same.
4. Life moves on.

For internship, it really depends on your luck. I got few of my friends with 1s class CGPA has not yet received any offer, but surprisingly they have accepted me with a decent second upper pointer.

Btw just apply, who knows luck will be on your side. Most important prepare your CV well. Good luck. thumbup.gif

PETRONAS is a huge group. Does not matter which OPU you attend the SI, as long as you go then you're good. It is necessarily that OPU who will hire you as well. PETRONAS will assign you based on their needs and if an OPU has a position for you and you did well in the SI then you'll be posted there.

I've done my SI and currently waiting for the result. biggrin.gif

I think for Geology you will need to be in Operating company to be able to get all the necessary working experience. If you can get an internship with Petronas, that would be great and it's a good start. If you do get a job (after graduating) with Petronas, then you are really lucky because I personally think that Petronas is the best place to be if you're a geologist. Their career development is structured, training is excellent and well prepared and Geology is one of what Petronas calls TIER 1 staff, meaning that after the assess that you're technically capable, you will be streamed into the technical line and your pay, renumeration, bonus, increment will be different than the rest of the staff in Petronas.

Good Luck

My understanding is that new staff no longer gets any medical/housing/car loans benefit from Petronas. You will need to subscribe to your own health insurance. Not sure if Prudential, ING, etc covers maternity.

Aiyoo, that is a story that you can write a book about. I think either in the Oil & Gas thread or this thread, I may have told part of the story.
