Hi guys, I've been using my kayfun v2 for quite a long time now and it has seen better days lol. Can anyone help recommending me a single coil RTA to replace it?

The current single coil go-to tank is still pretty much the tried and true Wotofo Serpent Mini IMHO. It's performance is hard to beat for an everyday single-coiler that can do both MTL or DTL, and it's pretty foolproof to build on relatively.

That said, being a mini tank, the capacity (2-3ml) might not be enough unfortunately. There's the Serpent Mini 25, but even that one isn't all that much bigger juice cap wise.

Just FYI, on the bleeding edge end of the spectrum, we have the Vandy Vape Govad AND the GeekVape Ammit 25... both single-coil poster childs of the "current" postless deck hype. Both are packed to the brim with features and perform awesomely, but might be a tad overwhelming to build on coming from a KF/KFL.

So yeah. If you won't mind the small capacity, the Serpent Mini is still the normally recommended single-coil RTA to upgrade to...

... unless you're feeling adventurous and wanna straight into the deep end that is.

Thanks for the input. Was thinking of going the Taifun path since it was easier to coil when i had it. Might go with serpent mini. I do have a griffin for dual coil setup but kayfun is/was my daily driver.

I find RDTA easier to build and wick than RTA. The other handy feature is you can access to the coil whenever you wish without worrying about juice leak.

The locking wall collapsing is mostly just the o-ring being loose, which is true for 90% of Taifun GT clones out there. With a sliiiiiiiiiiightly thicker o-ring it should stay in place, but a sliiiiiiiiiiightly thicker o-ring is also nigh impossible to find lol.

Also, from my relatively long experience with GT clones (vaped on them for a couple of years before moving on to more modern tanks), all the ones with adjustable airflow (V1.5) are all rubbish and leak from the air hole pretty easily.

Is it normal to have one battery slightly lower % than other? I think one of my Efest battery have slight (very minor chipped) cover maybe due to charging/insert in mod. Is it safe to use? I didnt notice any problem so far.

One of my friend also recommend to selotape it, just the chipped part lah. 😅

Also, i noticed some markings on the negative ends too. This should be normal? Maybe i upload a pic later

btw why buy efest battery ? is rewrap, if lucky u get hg2, else u get MH1 ....

The proper way to deal with battery wrap damage is of course to re-wrap. But TBH, as long as it's not extensively damaged, electrical tape would do as it's sufficiently insulating. Sellotape... might be a tad too thin for comfort IMHO and might just get torn again.

As for the markings, that's prolly just arc marks. Not a cause of concern UNLESS the entire terminal (- or +) is entirely covered with them.

As for the battery % diff, it depends on whether you're using them in a dual/multi-batt mod or not.

IF YOU ARE, you sure you married them from the beginning and treated them as such right? No hanky panky behind each other's backs (seperate charging)?

If so, it's probably just the batteries wearing out unevenly on their own... which is still a cause for concern but as long as the difference isn't too big, the mod should compensate.

If one batt drops below 10% of the other (and does this often) though, junk the pair (or use them for your single batt Mods) and get another pair, as they've developed marital issues no marriage counselor can fix anymore.

AGAIN, the above ONLY applies if you're using a dual/multi-batt mod.

If not then it doesn't really matter, batts degrade with use and this is normal.

Also, SonnyCool has a very valid point about re-wraps. Being efests you REALLY don't know what's under the wraps, unless you test the batteries themselves. If you get lucky you might get two from the same batch using the same cells inside. If you don't...

So yeah. Unless you're SURE that your re-wraps are the same cell inside, it might be better to avoid re-wrapped batts for dual/multi-batt Mods for this very reason.

I mean, as "biasa" as they are, LG Choco HG2s (authentic ones) are pretty easy to get on Shopee.

Err not sure. AFAIK it's going through the FDA PTMA process in the US as we speak, so we gotta wait for that first before mass worldwide availability.

As for more illicit routes (eg. smuggle punya) not sure. As it's made in Malaysia (as you say), I'm actually quite surprised there isn't a black market of the stuff here already.

I'm going back to IQOS-land in Dec probably, maybe this time I might just snag one finally just for the kicks. That said, the starter kit costs about the same as a decent DNA mod over there lol, so it's not quite easy to just impulse buy a set.
