I own black & gold but if you ask me, I prefer gold better because the fingerprint smudge look obvious on black

different people different taste i guess, i myself prefer the black one since it looks so sleek. gold? plain boring. too common already.

after all, will be using case anyway, so smudges is of no concern.

Using my rn4sd for gps as navigating trough penang today.. the phone kinda warm.. n it lock gps within 5 second whilst im driving.

It may be because the phone try to keep GPS in locked and your data connection may not be constantly stable throughout the journey, fluctuations of signal strength, therefore, the core clock running high.

May i know which telco are you using ...

Check sensor hole been cover or not.
Else got to reset whole unit to try out. If problem repeat .. time to complain

Same as my device. Temporary solution is disable in phone app to turn off screen during call.

I already opened up the motherboard and see the sensor.. nothing suspicious.

Even format and flashing other room won't fix it here

bro, i feel pity for u but do not give up yet. hv u tried different versions of waze, probably u may try to install with the older version. do not install the waze thru playstore, just find it on apkmirror n install the apk manually.

or downgrade back the previous miui fw, doesn't matter either dev or stable one.

or u might want to opt for custom rom. there are so many custom roms developed for this phone that u can find it on xda. trust me it's worth to try.

see whether these could solve ur phone's waze gps issue.

Thank you for your kind concern bro. I bought Redmi Note 3 Import set for my dotter. 1 Redmi Note 4 MY variant for my wifey and 1 for my bro in law. I thought of getting the 64GB+4Gb Redmi Note 4 for myself but then both their Redmi Note 4 having unstable GPS lock in issue makes me think twice about my intention to purchase the 64Gb+4GB variant although I've been waiting this variant for quite some time since they release the 32GB+3GB variant.

Well I don't think I should kacau their ROM since it's still under warranty but I can try what you suggest about downgrading their waze version. As for MIUI I'm not sure how to do it.

Just realized that many of the people here doesn't have a proper tempered glass as their shield to protect their screen. Do we need to downgrade back to normal screen protector?

Unfortunately with same app running, same permission, same battery saver mode running ,latest global rom V8.5.2.0.MCCCNED shorten by battery life 20% of redmi 4a compare to first stock global rom vV8.1.4.0.MCCMIDI

Battery life is extremely short compare to stock global rom, idle time with battery saver used to drain only 10 to 12% for a period of 9 hours when i sleep,running battery saver, now it takes 22% !

i have 3 units of redmi 4a, 2 updated, 1 unit still on stock and it has more battery life than the 2, i tested this for weeks to conclude this!
