Guys, my pup is very active, he likes to bites on everything he sees, from shoes to furnitures even when i bought him some toys to bite on he'll tend 2 get bored on those toys and find some new stuff 2 bite sweat.gif
Currently i ignore wad his doing and let him do until he's tired and go asleep. Is this ok? I mean let him bite on things will it injured his jaw or teeth?

every pup also will bite any thing , becoz their teeth is itchy, if u don wan ur slippers or other things to be bitten , scold him when he do that, get those chew sticks, got chicken/beef flavor, then it will bite that, much more tastier that slipper biggrin.gif

Naturally puppies like to play. Since he got no one to rough play with him, he bored loh so go chew things. It is natural for puppies to chew coz it excercises his jaw bone and muscles.

But if he chews furniture and shoes .... bad lah.

If you ignore and let him do those things, it will become a bad habit in the long run.

Whenever you notice your pup is chewing something that is not a toy, quickly take your pup away from that area. Say no everytime you push him away. Then bring him far away and give him his chew toys. If he starts to play and chew his toys, praise him and play with him.

Dogs got alot of sign language.... my dad bought a book for me on dog body language, very interesting to read.

Anyway, you must be stern. Cry then let it cry loh. ahaha... it must learn that you are the boss. When it chews or does anything wrong. Say "NO" loudly, then take the pup away from the fun thing he is doing.

Im stern, but now when i yell NO loudly he tends to ignore it sweat.gif

Btw i notice that he is super active leh always wanna bite ppl at first i tot he's just eager to go out, but when i take him go out for a walk he keep searching for dry leaf or sometimes rubbish and eat them, i hv to forcefully open his mouth and take it out. Everytime he did that i say no loudly but nothing happens.

Can he b sick? Coz his behaviour only happens suddenly which really makes me puzzled rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Advise to get a puppy from 2 month -3 month from either breeder or petshop , anyway learning stage for puppy is 3 month old - 6 month is very easy to train and learn things fast . after 6 month have to keep on working hard to training ur puppy oso , well good luck and find a furkid thumbup.gif

hahah i think mostly furkid do love timmy rubbing wan . same goes to my furkid as well .

well if ur furkid is manage to pee on newspaper then is easy to allow ur furkid to poo at newpaper as well , time can proove everything . well , normally where do ur furkid poo ? well after ur furkid got the intention to poo , u fast fast place ur furkid at the newpaper which it usually pee . then let it know this is the place which is for him to poo . and after he poo at a correct spot . Bring treats. never feel panic ,If it doesn't want, please wait for few 5-10 mins and start this regime all over again till it does it bussiness after it have it meal. evrytime when it poo at the correct spot remember rewards it with treats or praise it. continously with this process in the future even if this will take you easier up to a week. due to ur patience ,it will learn the right spot! When it reaches that 'target', give it bigger treat , im sure ur furkid love it thumbup.gif

good luck for ur training icon_idea.gif

whenever it scratch the floor , carpert and pillow , must control it habit . if u didnt show tat u dislike it habit which is scractching , bitting or etc .. it will feel that u didnt care about this habit it do , and it will become a habit which is hard to amend already if during it growing stage and didnt show what u like her to do , and what u dislike her do right ? anyway i bet one day u will manage it too ...good luck buddy thumbup.gif

im going to place a cage inside a room for my future pup.. and the room will belong to my pup..
questions...
1)at nite sleeping time i will close the room door... coz im afraid it will come out and dont know wad it will do.. then should i also close the cage door? or should i open the cage door and let it roam ard the room when its boring?i will put LOTS of toys for it.

2)usually at nite when we are slping.. wad will the pups be doing arh? and when is whines... does the clock method really works?

3)i will also place some newspapers in the room corner.. is it better for the pup to pee poo inside the cage or let it pee poo outside the cage.

4)dogs will not pee poo ard its slping place, is it consider the room is also its slping place or the cage? will a dog pee poo in its own room ?

5)does dogs follow our slping time?.. like we slp, it slps. we wake up, i'll wake up. will the dog get hungry during mid nite anot?

these are some questions i wana know even though i haven get my dog yet.. there are more.. but i dunwan to get confuse first.

My puppy is now having erm... teething period i guess, coz gets agitated very easily and likes to bite on things even myself sad.gif But there are times when he's very nice and will not bite. I did some research on this and found that tis is normal but it'll last up 2 1 year. shocking.gif

And to make things worse since i know nothing bout dogs i dont hv cages and toys to keep him company. Im planning to get some toys for him 2 chew on coz the previous chewable bones cant get his attention.

I need help from dog owners who lives in Butterworth, Penang to give me info bout shops that sells various toys for puppies. Coz i cant find it in carrefour or other shopping center.

1) I would close the cage door and keep her inside. Keeps her safe more than anything when you are not watching. You don't want her to have any pee/poo accidents or choke on something.

2) Whines may be a few things. If she is young, she will need to go pee/poo more often. Watch her behavior and train her pee/poo times. You need to time it so you get up in the middle of the night to take her to the correct pee/poo place to prevent her from doing it in her cage. Her instinct is not to soil her sleep area but if you give it no choice then she's gonna go inside her cage. This sets back your pee/poo training in the correct place.

If you are already keeping a schedule and she's doing beautifully by not peeing/poopooing in her cage then you are doing a wonderful job. Increase the time in between taking her to the correct spot as she grows older.

If she still whines after doing her business, you need to ignore her. If you go to her and give attention when she whines (not as a signal to pee/poo) then you are reinforcing this behavior. Not good. Ignore her. She may whine, barks and make a lot of noise. Ignore it.

3) I definitely say outside the cage. Who wants to sleep in a dirty smelly soil cage even if it is in a corner assuming your cage is big. That brings up something else. When your puppy is young, use a cage that is appropriate for her size meaning just enough for her to turn and lie down. A bigger cage can set back proper pee/poo training when she goes outside of your schedule. Not good.

If possible, I say outside the house if you have a yard. Even in a corner, I find that the smell will disperse around your room/apt/house. To me that is not so good. My dog does all her business outside on schedule.

4) If you decide to always take her out and you do your activites in your room including playing with her, she will learn to respect your area as well. That means she can learn not to pee/poo in the room too. However, if you have choosen a corner then by all means train her to go in that corner. She will do it. I guess what I mean to say is, it is up to you. You can make the room your/her personal space too or not. If you do, then she will most likely learn not to go in the room as well.

5) Puppies sleep more often. Your dog will learn your sleeping time too. Back to the whining part earlier. If you don't give it attention, she going to sleep. smile.gif If you keep a set feeding schedule, she should not be hungry. I recommend feeding at least twice a day and not once a day. Do it say once in the morning 7am or earlier (if you have to leave for the day for school/work) and feed once again in the evening like 6pm or later after you come back. No need to feed in the middle of the night. That's bad... keep the same schedule and your dog will learn. No need to be like you... you know... hungry go mamak... no need. tongue.gif tongue.gif
