Dear all,

In the shopping malls that I used to go at Klang Valley, I noticed that my car's tyres will have screeching sound whenever I am doing cornering, even with low pace.
Why is this happened? Is it tyre problem? or the road surface (chemical coatings) problem?

Thank You.

Any good R14 tires to recommend? Notice many ppl suggest Michellin XM1. Is XM1 quiet? Btw I'm driving a Saga BLM with stock sport rim.

Someone recommend Continental CC5, new tyre design (2010-2011) compare to 2003 design of XM1....i think i will go to Continental, these 2 tyres price very competitive.

Those debating about M3, I don't use M3, I'm using M5. All I can say is grip is terribly lacking if the road is a little wet at all.

I've skidded my car numerous times
- couldn't see bump from afar then suddenly brake
- others suddenly serve into my lane without signal
- not enough concentration, car in front suddenly slow down

Even at dry, its still not that good, I've skidded ones when I was furious and went very fast and someone suddenly come into my lane.

Dear all sifus, my saga blm rear tyre of 185 60 R14 stock tyre of ducaro ga is gonna kaput d. I've previously changed my front tyres to Michelin Energy XM 1 last year. Now planning to buy 2 new tyres for the front while switch the michelin to rear tyre. Now i'm kinda confused on several choices :

1) Hankook V8 RS - RM 190
- there's no V12 available for this size, so i have to settle for this model instead. However, there is no Traction rating, Treadwear rating whatsoever stated on tye tyre. I cannot find the detail from the internet either. Other shop ppl show to me another model of V2, which surprisingly has the same thread pattern as V8 RS! sweat.gif is both model the same? And what is the traction , treadwear rating and moat importantly how is the performance (i'm looking for good wet traction and comfort)

2) Pirelli P6 - RM 175
- this tyre has traction rating of AA and treadwear of 260. Thread pattern seems quite good for water displacement. However, the rubber is kinda hard compared to michelin or hankook,. Made in China somemore doh.gif . Have anyone used this model before? How's the comment?

3) Yokohama C 2 Drive - RM 165
- latest model from yoko this year. Again, din have Any traction, treadwear rating stated. Kinda soft tyre like xm1. Made in Phillipines.

4) Falken ZIEX 912 - RM 145
- previously was on my top list but recent finding of Falken downgraded the traction rating from AA to A has make me kinda disappointed. Somemore ppl said the tyre will become very noisy after 50k. It was quite cheap though.

So far i've find out above product for my tyre siZe. Is there any good model to be recommended? I know my tyre size din have much choices..... Kindly comment on what tyre to choose... Thankd. notworthy.gif

Guys any good tire shop to recommend around Salak Selatan/ Sri Petaling area? Thanks a lot!
*
Perhaps u can drop by Hua Hin Tyres Services in Salak Selatan area with a big yellow Continental Partner signboard beside the Besraya highway. Look for Ah Chuan (the boss) & he can recommend tyres that fits your budget.

did anyone know SONAR tyre?
*
Sonar brand of tyres are made in Taiwan & made, it sucks big time! If your budget is tight, then better get Achilles brand of tyres than Sonar.

those are the choices... is depends what you want... grip V8rs is a good choice... but C Drive 2 gives you the comfort when you need it... P6 and 912 ok ok only...

A Drive sucks... C drive 2 is better and S drive is their drive series top range...
try others like C Drive 2, Hankook V8rs, Toyo Teo Plus or Michelin PP2... those are better...

Bro, do you have any idea of the Traction Rating and Treadwear Rating for :

1) Hankook Blackbird V2 = Hankook Ventus V8 RS
2) Yokohama C Drive 2

Just couldnt get any info from the internet as well as the tyre itself. Hankook shop tell me the Blackbird V2 is of Traction AA and Treadwear 320, is this true?

C Drive should be A only... i have not seen C Drive 2 coz recently have not go to balancing and alignment... but very soon i'll go already...
as i know of Blackbird V2 is a comfort tires should be traction A only... while V8rs is performance traction AA...
threadwear for V8rs should be around 280 leh... C Drive 2 not sure...
actually u traction is the test of braking distance in wet... the short the better... it depends also on the tire compound... performance tires will be more grippy compare to comfort tires

Yup, RM250/pc for 185/55 R16 size with existing rims. Both goodyear and continental are same price.

Saw other forumer sell RM1.2-1.5k for their new E stock rims and tires. Might consider to buy from them

haha... that is odd odd size... try to look for 195/50 R16... it should fit into your existing rim... Kumho KU31 is one of the better performance tires which have in that size... but Conti Premium Contact also not far behind...
