bridgestone re003

Saw many mod myvi use these tires. Review show wet performance of this tires is so so

Oh well, tried something different

Changed my tires from 175/65 R15 to 185/60 R15
Slightly more choices this way

Went for Pirelli P1 Cinturato (RM 180/pcs)
Got a good trade in price for my tyres
70/pcs front but none for the back

So overall was RM 580 (pretty good value to me)

Only thing is getting used to the slightly different speedo reading (waze shows ~5 km/hr less compared to meter)

Tyre seems good so far, quiet and not bumpy. Maybe I’ll give it a better review once I have run it in properly

215/45 17 - Continental UC6
Treadwear: 300/A/A

Tyre came with the car, overall is very positive experience for myself.

I never tried Continental to be honest.

From what I can recalled, the tyres I have tried over the past 5 years - Bridgestone Potenza (got bonus),Achilles ATR 1 and Kumho Esta PS31 - these usually have stiff sidewall and huge groove for water dispersion, and from the look of it UC6 doesn't have really deep grooves for water dispersion. But surprisingly, it went with the job admirably, performing well in dry and wet.

The tyres itself is silent and comfortable, and throughout 5 years, I never experience my ride this quiet before. Maybe I am getting old already, my value system is changing to low NVH and UC6 fit in just nicely. Worth checking out if you are looking for good tyre in dry and wet.

Any recommendations for my 2012 MX5? Thinking of changing all 4 tyres, 205/45R17. Do fuel saving tyres save a lot more fuel?

Try better tyres since you driving a drivers car, anything cheap or reasonable doesn't do justice to MX5. I drove rx8 before, cheap tyre and the more expensive ones make hell lot of difference. If you enjoy driving, get premium tyres

Dunlop sport j5.
been using for a small car, really quite vs the old Silverstone. no idea for toyo.

the thread looks very deep and at least better than my old Silverstone during raining days.

225/50/17 - Just changed to Primacy 4ST

Previous donut Goodyear Excellence (36K already all 4 tires worn out).

Noise - A bit less noisier, but not really like so obvious
Grip - Feels the same ie feels the same confidence in cornering, braking and wet road
Comfort - A bit softer feeling, perhaps new tires
