I intend to go Taiwan in mid Oct .. going alone .. haven been to Taiwan before ..

Should I go for a tour package? Or to have it free and easy? I can speak Chinese fluently so language is not a problem for me.

Free and easy is nice as Taiwan has excellent public transportation. All very competitive too.
No need to go on tour package unless you wanted to those go along with aunty/uncle/ah mas that sit in bus.

Taiwan now has the super high speed train. I find it very easy to travel from one city to another.

South side is bad (Tainan, Kaoshiung, TaiTung). Roads and bridges are damaged.

Central (TaiChung), SunMoonLake and North side (Taipei) and East (HuaLien) are ok, no damage.

Confirm Taipei, YiLan, TaiChung and SunMoonLake (Nantou County) not damaged during the last typhoon.
Only southern part like Tainan (minimal), Kaoshiung southern (some), and Taitung (bad).

Amazingly Hualien City (eastern side) is also ok.

Thank goodness that Puli is also ok (we don't want any harm to those pretty ladies here) tongue.gif
