hi all sifus here... need ur advice... wub.gif

i am planning to travel to Taiwan in Nov/Dec for 20days... initially i was thinking to drive myself, but after checking with few frenz they all think it is dangerous for msian to drive there as Taiwan is left-hand side de... so one of the fren suggested me to use their public transport... rclxub.gif
but with reference to my below itinerary, is tat convenience of using public transport? sweat.gif

KaoShiong ---> PingDong ---> KenDing ---> TaiDong --->HuaLian ---> YiLan ---> JiLong ---> TaoYuan ---> TaiPei

the reason of putting the TaiPei as the last destination is bcoz my fren told me tat i can do the last shopping there, hence at my earlier itinerary, i not need carry so many things  wub.gif

ya,their traffic is quite different from malaysia.I drive motorbike at kenting, hualien before, is ok,but you need to use to be the left side way, sometimes easy to forget! doh.gif
but if the car got gps, it should not be a problem...or you can hire driver travel together, i got a drive he offer good price,i take his car before for 2 day at taipei, from morning 9am until 12am..haha..(advice you take him if you travel with a group person),if alone, den drive by urself/ public transport...
last time my travel is Taoyuan>kenting>Taichung>taipei>hualien>taipei smile.gif

p/s:at kenting you should drive using motorbike!the feeling is so good!i love it..but not sure how the weather during nov/dec la...

Agreed with smalling on motorbike driving. I had drive in Kenting, Peng Hu Island & Sun Moon Lake to Puli and vice versa, so far so good. But just not to speeding.

help transit answer*.. smile.gif
yup,one year international license RM150,as long you have full license (not P,no age limit of 21),you can just go to JPJ and apply(within half hour, and also depend the crowd).
RM150 can save alot of money at some place, example of kenting, road at there actually very easy to understand, and of cuz,you can ask ppl at their to gv direction. smile.gif

Jz FYI who want to know the update on currency exchange, when i withdraw money from Taiwan ATM, I actually got a good exchange rate from CIMB which is RM10.48 per NT100 but need to add Rm10 per transaction la...if you withdraw more, then it's a good rate.

Also, I was at Suria KLCC last week, I kinda pass thru one of the money exchange counter and jz out of curiousity, i checked out the Taiwan exchange. OMG is RM10 to NT100 exactly. I'm not sure if it's still the same but this is a very good deal... you can go there and check out yourself if u want, just sharing what I saw. but don't come back and scold me if there's no more that rate la...hahha

Hi does anyone know what is the best way to go Alisan from Taichung?
Cos based on my research, can take HSR/Train from Taichung to Chiayi first.
Then from Chiayi go Alisan.

But hor, HSR cost RM38/pax. If 2 person then RM76 dy. Would it be better if i take taxi? Anyone know roughly how much taxi fare from Taichung to chia yi?

Then from Chiayi to Alisan, can suggest me how to go? this part a bit headache to me..

thanks

From my experience, average cost for 2pax using taxi is more expensive but you may get to Alisan in shortest time using TAXI. However using THSR, then you may need to take the public transport (bus) from Jia Yi station on top of the THSR train fare. That will take u longer time to reach Alisan.

Not headache lah, it is just money & time matter only (0 or 1 in computer logic). If time is concern for you both, then take TAXI. If money is concern, then take THSR to Jia Yi Station then Bus to Alisan.

The THSR is one of the best infrastructure voted in Taiwan. Enjoy the ride!!

yeah. usually every place you stay should have the adapter. if you have a lot of devices to charge, then bring your own so that u have options.
