Yes me using Taipei as a base. Everyday will be back to Taipei ~ 8-9pm..still got time having 2 nites at Xi Mend Ding, 1 nite at Wufengpu & 1 nite at Shihlin Food market..haha

For whole Taiwan, probably 8-9 days..but 7days enough for you to goto either Kaoshiung or Taichung or combi of Kaoshoung & Alisan liao. + day trip to Taroko. Surrounding Taipei, most attractions are within walking distance from MRT even Danghui market (not the Lover bruidge) also within walking distance from the MRT station. Yehliu & Jiufen, you need to take either bus or train and Keelung as transit point between both

Movement depending on you. To juelien, the speed train service (2hrs via Taroko Express) need advance booking otherwise no ticket. Normalconventional train (Same pricing, most of the time also full and if you insist just buy the "Standby" ticket ion the spot..Well, most of the time you will be standing haha...Normal train ~ 3.5hrs journey to hualien

Meaning to say with 7 days i can go around whole of taiwan? will it be too pack / rushing?

As I havent been there before, Do u take Taipei as the base and then from there u move around? is the distance between the surrounding areas near or are they far that it would be wiser to stay at a different hotel at different places.

Am totally lost now, haha looking at the map i'm not sure how to plan. In general, how would the recommended movement be? meaning start from which city and then move on to where and where??  hmm.gif

Sorry for not make my question clear.

My initial booking is done, confirmed everything settle which I did it a month ago.
However, I suddenly changed my mind as I wanted increase the luggage weight. So, I update the "manage booking" (on AA website). Then defintely I have to pay extra amount and I pay via CC and the problem occur. Now my booking (my booking number) become "unconfirmed" due to I yet to pay the extra amount.

I wanna cancel the luggage thingy but can't. The website do not have the function cry.gif
what should i do?

hi !!

I will be travelling to taiwan on 20-26 may

I would like to visit some flowers garden.
Found this two which is located at Taoyuan county
1) Futian Garden Farm Ranch
2) Daxi Flower Ocean Farm Ranch

http://travel-taoyuan.tycg.gov.tw/e_conten...suggestb_5.aspx

Does anyone has any idea on how to get there from Taipei ?
Or any flowers garden not too far from Taipei for a day trip?

And for Taroko Gorge , is it this link to book the ticket ?
http://railway.hinet.net/etkind1.htm

The station destination is Hualien or Xincheng ?
And which train type should I choose for the express train?

And does anyone has any taxi contact number for a half day tour to yehliu & jiufen ?

Thanks !

Added on April 21, 2011, 12:53 pmTaoytuan is the location of the airport. I suggest you stay at Taoyuan for a nite rather than direct to Taipei if you want to go there..Last time, at the airport, on certain timing, the Tourist office there provide free 1/2 day tour surrounding Taoyuan...Not sure include all these attractions hmm.gif

The correct station is Hualian. At 1st also I thought of stopping at the station b4 Hualien bcos closer to Taroko & Chin Sui Cliff. But after seeing the consddition of this Taroko station, better not-lor...Just a stop..like those simple KTM stop ..& very quiet & no many or no passenger at all biggrin.gif

To Yehliu & Jiufen, just take local bus or a train to Keelung & thereafter a bus to either both locations. But at Yehliu, the bus stop before Yehliu village so you need to walk ~ 1km to Yehliu Geopark.

if travel by bus, there's no way u can finish in 1/2 a day.

I bought bus ticket from taipei main station direct to yehliu which took me about 1 hour 10mins. and yes, they stop at main road and you need to walk in to the geopark. i spent like 2 hours there(3 would be jz nice). then need to walk out to main road to take bus to keelung city. this took me another 40mins. then switch bus to jiufen which is another 45mins.

ironically, i jz finished my blog update on this route. check out the link at my signature.

hi all sifus here... need ur advice... wub.gif

i am planning to travel to Taiwan in Nov/Dec for 20days... initially i was thinking to drive myself, but after checking with few frenz they all think it is dangerous for msian to drive there as Taiwan is left-hand side de... so one of the fren suggested me to use their public transport... rclxub.gif
but with reference to my below itinerary, is tat convenience of using public transport? sweat.gif

KaoShiong ---> PingDong ---> KenDing ---> TaiDong --->HuaLian ---> YiLan ---> JiLong ---> TaoYuan ---> TaiPei

the reason of putting the TaiPei as the last destination is bcoz my fren told me tat i can do the last shopping there, hence at my earlier itinerary, i not need carry so many things wub.gif
