5kg is freaking small package to carry onboard....

Very light travel....

I only take my laptop and one powerbank and a cable. All others checked it. hose that insist on bigger bags are just freaking selfish

RM200 is ridiculous.

Up to you. You can always pay to check in at the counter if you want lower cost

my take is, they are not making enough from the check in luggage sales....

like i said many times, if you add in the amenities fees, aa is often not competitive with mh and/or malindo....so the only people who will book aa are those who only hand carry....and these people are pushing the envelope...carrying onboard more and more...

two possible outcomes from this move....people WILL prebook check in, and aa makes more money....or people move to other airlines once they figure out the total cost of their trip...

you can buy 15kg for domestic....but they removed that from international....so even if you have 10kg, you will have to pay 20....

Traveled back from perth few days ago, saw aa staffs starting to check the size of backpack and remind those with big backpack (mostly hiking backpack) about this rules. When entering the departure gate, there are staffs that weight your baggage with weighing scale. They even announced it in the plane that from 15 march onwards, 7kg for 2 bags.

I guess Tony needed a few quid extra revenue on the baggage dept.... laugh.gif

putting hiking backpack is not a mistake
their fault is putting "hiking backpack" there without putting exact description...leaving it very vague
those over 45L clearly cannot fit into overhead compartment already, thus need to check in

i doubt they'll measure the dimensions until so detailed, it's gonna forever to measure everyones bag lol
*
No need to measure. They have this iron cage where if you drop your bag in the cage and it does not fit, it will be deemed oversized.

Why using cattle class when so much backpack, depend on route, if BKI-KUL/ KCH-KUL return, Malindo business class more worth. 40 Kg luggage allowance. whistling.gif

ala the backpack is used for overseas cheapskate backpacking la.. AA round trip tickets to Hanoi cost less than RM400.. where to find such a steal with Malindo or MAS?

if business traveling to KUL or other cities, usually company will pay for luggage and no way we are using AA

65L?
thats way too huge
width wise, it can fit of course
height wise, its way too tall
u have to remember the backpack is placed vertically on the overhead compartment, not horizontically
so 40L is the maximum for carry on
