I lost my manual book, would be nice to get to know the other fluid capacity as well

Looking for something that lasts 5 years As for the repairs, I will not spend 6k to repair such and old car because for second hand, you can get this car at around 15k. 5 years down the road, other parts will start to fail, you will end up spending another sum of money. Another thing about the oil leaks. You do not need to replace everything. Generally mechanics in Malaysia are not powderful enough. They just lazy or do not know where to find the leak so they just ask you to change everything. Actually if they are able to pinpoint the exact leak, they can probably fix it just by maybe changing the oil seal. Also, by changing all the engine parts, what if the leak is somewhere else? You already changed those parts then the mechanic ask you to change another set of parts, you have to pay more! This post has been edited by abubin: Mar 22 2019, 02:37 PM |

QUOTE(iverice @ Dec 17 2018, 12:42 PM) wow, can explain whats the feel after changing the shock mount? You should change the mount whenever u change the absorber. The feel is better. No point just change the mount.i need to change eng oil this weekend, thinking to change the shock mount too if like that. There is 2 types. The OEM or cheap Toyota version is good enough. The toyota ori is costly, around rm200 each. The only difference I see is the design allow a better absorber downwards control. |

QUOTE(kyan Is KYB UR ULTRA BOUNCY?MY spare part uncle say very bouncy compared to KYB Gas.. HELPPP That uncle drive an avanza? or u prefer to believe avanza owners using RS Ultra?....hahahahI use more for neighbourhood drive. Looking for something that lasts 5 years Ori is shit. KYB Gas pretty much the same. The main reason avanza is bouncy because the spring is very stiff. Go look and compare the new avanza vs old avanza spring. The old coil spring is bigger coil. The new avanza coil is small. So when u go over bumper car will bouncy harder due to stiffer spring. So either u change spring but then your loading will reduce when u carry heavy. So the best way to absorb the bounce is harder absorber. Also when u take hard n fast corners, more stability as less roll. Of course some may say put those stiff roll bars. Yes, that is for corners but won't help in absorbing shocks when going up and down. Different parts different function. Don't anyhow change without know the purpose. I am on my 2nd set of RS ultra. I run and hard lasted about 40 to 50k. No regrets. Still will go back to RS ultra unless APM proves to be better and cost effective. For neighbourhood drive means slow and steady. If u ok with ori then suggest fit back ori, but for me I cannot tahan, bounce like hell. |

They are same right?? Thanks When I first got my avanza, the rear absorbers were performax so I am unsure if during that time what condition it was. Saved up enough to change to Greber which were much thicker compared to the performax. The feeling it gives me was that it was more planted as I drove it out of the workshop in Kepong. Loved that feeling ![]() As such, I am not sure how a new performax absorber would perform since I have no such experience and hope you can share with us here once you have it installed. Alternatively, there are shops that help you to change the oil inside your shock absorbers. I have tried it on my Axia but because it was so light at the back, it was uncomfortable. I ended up having to buy another pair of original Axia absorbers. This might also work for Avanza but will be through trial and error or need advice from the workshop itself. |

Recently due to the hot weather and the ageing aircond components, my compressor was not cutting off eventhough the cool was pointing to 10 o'clock.
Went to Hinly aircond in PJ old town and he said my gas was a little low and proceeded to top up for me for RM40. Felt better once topped up but was wondering what else I can do to make it better. Ended up DIY an extra fan in front of the condenser for better cooling of the gas. The extra fan draws more current from the car and there is are bits here and there that needs to trim to get the bumper to fit. Sharing was from others in AOCM on fb ![]() |

Change Toyota Ori Msia made pads RM85, labor rm30. Run in about 200km so far ok.
During change pads found my stabilizer link bush ko, leaking grease. So I guess time to change. Also, found tiny tear on bush at lower IFS arm. Probably need to change it maybe 1 year later. APM shocks I found in Mudah.APM Mudah Similar price. Awaiting feedback before I consider APM. APM is not known for shocks, but for springs. Last weekend, alternator KO, 120k km mileage. Wasted money buy battery get home.
Bought new recond alternator RM220, fit RM60. After fitted, my HP charge very fast from the audio unit. Also, AC compressor works better too cause I think less load as alternator would cut off faster now. But funny part is sometimes when I brake to slow speed, engine slow down till like almost died split second. Scary. Not sure what's the problem. After fitted new alternator engine also behaving weird, maybe cause ECU total powerless flat due to battery flat. |
