Im driving 2007 1.5g avanza. For those who wondered about the effectiveness of anti roll bar or on the verge of deciding whether to install an anti roll bar on avanza, i would strongly say that yes GO for it!
I had installed 19mm arb from Ultra Racing, the effect is very obvious when taking long bend whether on the hiway or twisty country road. And when youre here, throw in the front strut bar to it too, steering will feel more sharp and responsive.
However, the main thing i could not overcome is the up down or vertical flex or bouncy or bumpy or whatever you want to call it when you hit a road dip (not potholes). I had changed all four abs, maybe next up will try to change the spring as well.
Cheers.
*
bro, Ultra Racing how much ?
haha, same feeling for road dip, feel like roller coaster if u drive fast. especially when u overtake people and you met a road dips, PAIN

Yes i chg to stiffer shock abs, it does reduce the bouncy on uneven road and pothole, but those road dip is anotjer different story especially when drive fast.
*
haha, "another story" when meet road dip

i installed back in 2016.
rear anti roll bar 19mm rm600, front 4point strut bar rm300
The price had gone up compare to back in 2015 /2014.
after u install this two bar. Straight line stability also improved cruising on 110 - 120kmh is very stable if compafe with stock.
Not to say the cornerimg also very controllable now.
*
sounds interesting
i'm also concern about anyway to improve acceleration
ii tried 150-165 with stock, if night is okay, if daytime ...feels like pulling a cow and try to run fast

For power i domt think theres much to do to improve it.Maybe some air filter , or change the air intake.
What generation is yours anyway?
*

Yea, dropout air filter, air intake, pulley, ron100, full syn engine oil

I bump up my tyre pressures helping up at agility and fuel economy ... probably acceleration too, IDK.
Factory recommends front at 31 psi and rear at 35 psi.
I selected 38 psi all round, now at 40 psi front and rear.
*
Ya i heard that too, but i seldom do that
especially long journey, worry overheat will.....haha
how far u can go for one tank ron95

wtf 40psi?? thats like 400kpa on the tyre.
Its way too high man.
When i use factory recommended 31f 34r i also felt the rear tyre is floating left and right when driving alone or light loaded.
I found that 210kpa all round is the best in terms of road feeling , well at least for me anyway.
*
standard is 210 & 240
i didnt try before 400kpa
but i heard before actually want to put how high also can, as long as the tyre is supported. The higher the lighter rclxms.gif
400kpa is it feeling like Camry's performance in Avanza ?

Limited tyre overpressure (say, up to 30-50 % above OEM's ) at design loads won't cause tyre overheat.
It's tyre underpressure AND overloading that cause tyre overheating.
Am getting 11.5-12.5 km/L i.e 400+ km per tankful fill. tongue.gif
*
thumbup.gif
underpressure means ? too light ?
last time i used to get 12-13km/L, 410km+, 30-32litres
sometimes depends on our foot biggrin.gif
if always below RPM3000, 10km+/L is possible
but now i always around 9km/L or even lesser bangwall.gif

Tyre underpressure means below factory recommended tyre presssures .....
my Avanza 1.3 spec's  31 psi Front and 35 psi Rear ....
Try overpressure to say, 36-38 psi to see if fuel consumption improves .... albeit a harsher ride possibly.
*
oh i see
becoz mine is 1.5cc
ya, higher psi make me feel better driving and better fuel consumption
i always follow the factory recommend that sticker inside car
but if i go outside workshop, they always pump very high for me cry.gif i forgot how much ady

Anyway XM2 that I have is not known for braking grip .. tongue.gif
*
You means the brake grip not so good ?

For me, I feel it is quite nice compare to Dunlop/Continental, in terms of pickup/ bouncy road/ high speed/ emergency brake

Maybe need other people give opinion too

Not sure tyre brands other than XM2 would make a difference .... probably would give it a try..
or maybe it's inherent with Avanza, IDK.

maybe smile.gif
but if u find any brands nice to use, pls share with us, thanks rclxms.gif

ron97 pickup faster, but both ron95 or ron97 top speed is same. Atleast ron97 more quiet until 140kmh
