Hi all! On one of my recent trips over 2000km, i had a puncture and noticed after market piston type jacks don't really jack up the cars enough. As such, I am looking out for the original toolset which unfortunately didn't come with my avanza when I got it 2nd hand. The extension comes about because when one wants to jack up the rear, the jack needs to be at the axle which without the extension piece is impossible to reach. Do let me know if you happen to chance upon one. Thank you.

In one month I sent in to the mechanic at least 4 times yet after a day or 2 use, I start sweating again. Used recon compressor didn't work for me. Ended up the mechanic had to take my Avanza to another mechanic somewhere far far away tested and said needed a new compressor instead of a recon.

QUOTE(waiwai_wai @ Sep 5 2017, 12:01 PM) so currently okay already ? you pay 2 times ? how much the new 1 ? Not paid 2 times. More like paid for the 1st time then top up the difference between the recon and new compressor. Really sorry coz I don't remember the price already...but if I come across the bill again, will inform.

I suspect my avanza aircond condenser acting up coz got a lot of dark mark and greasy there near the filter and near the hoses. After turning the cool knob to 10 o'clock, it does not cut off. Anyone done DIY on aircond condenser repair before?

Also, has anyone experienced RPM slow to return to idle. My case is if I am on the move, on flat ground, after letting go of the gas pedal, the RPM is very reluctant to go below 1500 RPM. The speed does not increase but neither does it decrease. I have no choice but to bring it down using brake till car stop. I think this cause me to suffer high FC and also quicker wear on brakes and brake pads/shoes.

I wanted to open the idle control device but the screw is 5 star hexagon. Hard to open without the correct tool.

QUOTE(waiwai_wai @ Sep 16 2018, 02:55 AM) Anyone here facing this problem >> when start the car, the car auto REV to 2000 rpm in P mode, switch to D mode, release the brake pedal, the car start moving fast already as the rpm keep REV above 2000 rpm (same like we press oil pedal). When press brake, the RPM will come down but release brake pedal the RPM will automatically go up again. Until off the aircond then become normal. After 30mins drive, ON back aircond no problem already. * 2010 avanza I think this is the auto choke function to get your engine to warm up faster. Try without switching on the aircond see whether the results are the same. After the car warm up property, the rpm should drop to normal idle i think 750 RPM or thereabouts.

QUOTE(leonardchin @ Dec 2 2018, 05:59 PM) Hi guys. I am using Avanza 2011. New to this thread. 2 of my air-conditioning vents at the rear the clip has broken so the vents fall out of the blower. I noticed Lazada sells the vent. Is it easy to DIY to install them? Can you share with us the photo of the vents where the broken clip is?

QUOTE(waiwai_wai @ Dec 8 2018, 04:45 PM) This red circle thing broken.. Thousand apologies for the late reply. If it is the same colour as the entire vent (grey), then I guess you will have to replace the entire vent. If it is the black colour piece, I have DIY before.

QUOTE(andx517 @ Mar 29 2019, 03:04 PM) Hi guys, just bought 4 pieces of APM performax absorber, hopefully its better than regular red absorber .. but the shop says i need to replace the absorber mounting and bush as well.. can i buy the kyb brand mounting and pair with apm absorber?? They are same right?? Thanks [attachmentid=10215601] When I first got my avanza, the rear absorbers were performax so I am unsure if during that time what condition it was. Saved up enough to change to Greber which were much thicker compared to the performax. The feeling it gives me was that it was more planted as I drove it out of the workshop in Kepong. Loved that feeling As such, I am not sure how a new performax absorber would perform since I have no such experience and hope you can share with us here once you have it installed. Alternatively, there are shops that help you to change the oil inside your shock absorbers. I have tried it on my Axia but because it was so light at the back, it was uncomfortable. I ended up having to buy another pair of original Axia absorbers. This might also work for Avanza but will be through trial and error or need advice from the workshop itself.

Recently due to the hot weather and the ageing aircond components, my compressor was not cutting off eventhough the cool was pointing to 10 o'clock. Went to Hinly aircond in PJ old town and he said my gas was a little low and proceeded to top up for me for RM40. Felt better once topped up but was wondering what else I can do to make it better. Ended up DIY an extra fan in front of the condenser for better cooling of the gas. The extra fan draws more current from the car and there is are bits here and there that needs to trim to get the bumper to fit. Sharing was from others in AOCM on fb
