Im driving 2007 1.5g avanza. For those who wondered about the effectiveness of anti roll bar or on the verge of deciding whether to install an anti roll bar on avanza, i would strongly say that yes GO for it!
I had installed 19mm arb from Ultra Racing, the effect is very obvious when taking long bend whether on the hiway or twisty country road. And when youre here, throw in the front strut bar to it too, steering will feel more sharp and responsive.
However, the main thing i could not overcome is the up down or vertical flex or bouncy or bumpy or whatever you want to call it when you hit a road dip (not potholes). I had changed all four abs, maybe next up will try to change the spring as well.
Cheers.

bro, Ultra Racing how much ?
haha, same feeling for road dip, feel like roller coaster if u drive fast. especially when u overtake people and you met a road dips, PAIN
*
i installed back in 2016.
rear anti roll bar 19mm rm600, front 4point strut bar rm300
The price had gone up compare to back in 2015 /2014.
after u install this two bar. Straight line stability also improved cruising on 110 - 120kmh is very stable if compafe with stock.
Not to say the cornerimg also very controllable now.

Owner of 2007 Avanza 1.3L K3VE here ..... 245,000 km todate.
Yep, bouncing with road dip ...... sigh.
Do stiffer/harder shock absorbers help ?
*
Yes i chg to stiffer shock abs, it does reduce the bouncy on uneven road and pothole, but those road dip is anotjer different story especially when drive fast.

sounds interesting
i'm also concern about anyway to improve acceleration
ii tried 150-165 with stock, if night is okay, if daytime ...feels like pulling a cow and try to run fast
*
For power i domt think theres much to do to improve it.Maybe some air filter , or change the air intake.
What generation is yours anyway?

I bump up my tyre pressures helping up at agility and fuel economy ... probably acceleration too, IDK.
Factory recommends front at 31 psi and rear at 35 psi.
I selected 38 psi all round, now at 40 psi front and rear.
*
wtf 40psi?? thats like 400kpa on the tyre.
Its way too high man.
When i use factory recommended 31f 34r i also felt the rear tyre is floating left and right when driving alone or light loaded.
I found that 210kpa all round is the best in terms of road feeling , well at least for me anyway.

40 psi is 275 kpa , mate.
400 kpa exceeds 185/70R14 tyre maximum allowable pressure, cannot pakai.
Isn't 210 kpa too low for Avanza 1.3 ?
*
well 210kpa for all four tyre is the best me, at least when tje car is in light load condition.
If i follow 210kpa fromt 240kpa rear, i cam litterally feel the rear tyre floating and skidding on those whiteline on thr road.
imo, 275 kpa is too much for avanza, overpressure by that much amount is dangerous in rain, your tyre will not grip and im not kidding.

The price should be reasonable because online advertising around rm100-120 per pcs without installation.

it depends on many factors, road conditions that you travel, speed that you travel, luck etc.
oh ya when the mechanic dismantle the old absorber out , he told me the bushing alredy crack, and i also confirmed it.

oh i see
thanks for the info
if no replace the crack abs will cause dangerous ? or just bumpy drive ?
*
my mechanic said there will be vibration cuz the crack will induce some freeplay on the absorber connect to the body thus vibration and bumpiness will increase.
In worse case maybe the whole absorber spoil and tyre wear also.

I heard ori Avanza absorber  too soft and thus bumpy.
Is that true?
*
100% true this. Thus you need stiffer absorber to reduce the bounciness. The ori toyota abs is too soft to be pair with the coil spring hence it cannot provide enough damping to the car.
I changed my ori to kyb excel g before, but unfortunately excel g is more or less the same with the stock abs, now i changed this to kyb rs ultra, the ride is so much steadier.
But i also heard that Gabriel or gab is also good for avanza.

yeah..i used gabriel prevously and it was good. After the absorber spoil, the seller ran out of stock so I went to gab instead. I must say Gabriel is better as it is stiffer. Gab is a bit soft but still much better than stock absorber.
*
how long your gabriel tahan last time?
u use till leak oil or what?

Your previous abs change because of leak oil too ?
Leak oil usually because high speed driving + hit the big big hole few times. If i'm wrong pls corect me smile.gif
*
no my previous excel g havent leaking yet, but after omly like 8 or 9 months, i found that is getting softer and softer, hence more bouncy, it might only probably be my imagination i duno.
But i like this rs ultra better
