My understanding of Sungai Long refer to those residential/commercial along the river, based on Waze Sungai Long originate from Desa Budiman, flow through SL8, Taman Rakan then combine with Sg Langat near by Taman Cuepacs

Imho, Sungai Long include Outer and Inner Sg Long.
Outer Sg Long refer to Taman Rakan/Taman Cuepacs and its surrouding Inner Sg Long also known as Bandar Sungai Long. Based on wikimapia, Bandar Sungai Long and Bandar Mahkota Cheras boundary are as follows:

Is there a possibility twin palm will have a inner road connect to sg long? Last week when pass by twin palm saw there is already a trunk road between both places

Shl is building new driving range next to the existing one, after that land will be developed into residential area , based on MPKJ info, total land size 9 acres, more traffic for sure, hope this is semiD/ bungalow not any DSTH or high rise..

As a student, I don't think the BMC car park will be sucessful. I stay at Scot Pine so I don't usually require parking but I guess closing one of the parking lots behind UTAR will not deter students from trying to park at the adjacent lot. If it is full then they'll just park on the street because I still see alot of people parking illegally even though MPKJ is quite busy issuing summons. I mean, students are usually very lazy to walk (can see from the ridiculous queues at UTAR 's lifts)

If they really want to solve the parking issue in Sg Long, MPKJ should expand the roads and draw more parking space at the road side. The cars has to go somewhere, you can't stop people coming to do their daily chores, and you shouldn't make one life more difficult to ease minority others.
All the roadside around hospital, UTAR, flora, shell, all the way to forest green. These place are neither pedestrian walkway(they are uneven and difficult to walk on) nor roads, just some wild trees and cement barriers. Why not turn it into proper parking? We can even squeeze in proper brick walkway and flower patch. Which is similar to the roads around cypress and scotpines, facing pasar malam and old town cafe. That way people has more parking, MPKJ can cut maintenance cost and make more income too. It doesn't take a smart guy to think about that? Current solution of renting land in BMC to park UTAR cars, and move pasar pagi to the current private car park is a stupid solution, not only wasting unnecessary money, cause troubles, doesn't solve anything, MPKJ is only sweeping their troubles aside, most likely when the solutions proven not working, election over dy. |

I actually happy to relocate the morning and night market to Bomba reserve land, it smooth the traffic and reduce the dirtiness along Persiaran SL1. Lavender 2 block (Phase 1) Iris 1 block (Phase 2) Camellia1 block (Wira Cheras developer) All in same row. and another future so called 3 phase condo will build infront of Lavender and Iris at the entrance of the site there. |

Some update on Silk Highway
KUALA LUMPUR: SILK Holdings Bhd shareholders have unanimously APPROVED the proposed disposal of Sistem Lingkaran Lebuhraya Kajang Sdn Bhd (SILK) to Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB). That day saw MRT shuttle bus pass by Palm Walk guard houses, hehe really look forward to taking MRT wef 17/7/2017 especially after struck in jam for more than one and a half hours due to morning rain today.

The Prime Minister posted a picture of a road sign for the Kajang MRT station on his Twitter account. It read: "The Real Kajang Move. Coming to you in seven days. #JomNaikMRT." The second phase of the MRT line, from Sungai Buloh to Kajang, is expected to be fully operational by July 17, reported local media. Mr Najib said that 500,000 people a day are expected to use the new line connecting Sungai Buloh and Kajang, reported Malay Mail. The 51km line comprises 31 stations, of which seven are underground. He said last week that the Malaysian government is committed to improving public transport and increasing connectivity to ensure commuters can travel faster at a cheaper price, reported The Star newspaper. The MRT feeder bus route is out, it carry Sg Long folk to MRT Bukit Dukung instead of MRT Batu 11 Cheras as stated previously in Phase 1.
Facilities in MRT Bukit Dukung 
Bus routes for BMC folk enroute to MRT BTHO is as follow, only one route for MRT BTHO no feeder bus for Cheras Perdana and BTHO...may be too close to station gua.

Q:Looking at the table, how is possible that the further one travels, the fare charges are lesser compared with nearer stations? A:In addition to the nominal flag fall and the nominal fee for the Transit Acquirer System (TAS), fare is calculated based on the distance travelled and cascading rates based on blocks of four or five kilometres travelled. The unit rate/km for shorter distance is relatively higher rates compared with the unit rate/km for further distance travelled. For example, the cash fare between Sungai Buloh and Bandar Utama which is 13.33 kilometres away is calculated based on the following: Flag fall (RM0.70) + TAS (RM0.20) + (Distance of 13.33 km x base unit rate of RM0.22/km) = RM3.80. The calculation of the cash fare between Sungai Buloh and TTDI, which is further away than Bandar Utama, but has crossed over to a lower block of unit rate/km, would result in a relative lower fare as below: Flag fall (RM0.70) + TAS (RM0.20) + (15.17km x base unit rate of RM0.18/km) = RM3.70. This explain why we only need to pay RM3.20 from Bukit Duking to Pusat Bandar Damansara while Batu 11 Cheras & BTHO need to pay RM3.80 & RM3.70 even though they are closer. KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — Just one week more and phase two of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line will be entirely completed to begin operating and serve its role particularly in facilitating travel for the population in previously underserved areas.
MRT Strategic Communication and Stakeholder Relations director Datuk Najmuddin Abdullah said the SBK Line, which is the first of three planned Klang Valley MRT lines, consists of 19 new stations, of which seven are located underground. “Fourteen of the new stations are strategically located in densely populated areas which have never been served by any urban rail services,” he told Bernama. The 14 stations are Muzium Negara, Tun Razak Exchange Centre, Cochrane, Taman Pertama, Taman Midah, Taman Connaught, Suntex, Sri Raya, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Batu Sebelas Cheras, Bukit Dukung, Sungai Jernih, Merdeka and Taman Mutiara. ... The MRT SBK Line covers northwest of Kuala Lumpur and runs through the capital city before ending in Kajang, a fast developing town to the southeast of the city. It will serve as a corridor with a population of 1.2 million people linking their homes with their destinations in the city. The RM23 billion project was approved by the government in December 2010 and construction of the line was officially launched on July 8, 2011 by Najib. For Sg Long and BMC folks that work in area cover by LRT Putra eg KLCC, Wangsa Maju, Kelana Jaya etc got to stop at MRT Muzium Negara and walk 0.24km (underground + elevated walkway) to KL Sentral
There aren’t any interchange to LRT for MRT’s Phase 1. However, commuters will be able to reach KL Sentral station from the Muzium Negara MRT station via a 240 metres linkway. The linkway will connect you to Menara CIMB, Quill Sentral, St. Regis Hotel and Residences, Hilton Hotel, Le Meridien Hotel, as well as Platinum Sentral.

Almost forgot, when touch and go is used to pay feeder bus fare, it will charge RM3, to get back RM2 one need to touch the scanner again before get out of the bus.

Today drive to office, very smooth from Sg Long-BMC-GS Highway-Connaught, jam as usual at Salak Highway, smooth in Federal Highway and Kerinchi Link, reach Hartamas in 45 minutes, before that I take more than an hour to do so, believe many has opted to MRT

BMC folk demand for SRJK C & SMK to be built in the township
Based on estimate, Sg Long has 47,760 residents (9,552 unit x 5) and BMC has 62,025 residents (12,405 unit x 5), the guidelines issued by government every community more than 22,500 residents 3 schools need to be built. SRJKC and SMK in Sg Long only enough for Sg Long folk, BMC need schools too especially SRJT has been approved despite only consist of 20% population in BMC, why ignored the demand for 80% residents given that there are 3 more plot of lands reserved for schools. Just the car park area for Condo Tower. Existing AEON premise will be converted into lifestyle shops. This is current plan and subjected to change. Reason is costs to demolish the building can be huge, so they will just start pile for new construction on the open space first. AEON already sign-off to check out by this September, doing stock clearance now and most of the shops (Caring Pharmancy, Eatery etc) is renewing their contract on monthly basis and will closed down by phases.

I'm currrently searching for own-stay property and never been to BMC before. Some of the apartment listed in BMC are within my budget of 400k namely Green Acre Park and Evergreen Park for a size of 1000sqft above. Anyone staying there might shed a light on the area pro's and con's ? Seems cheap  Much help needed. |
