Guys, do I need to get Tax Clearance letter from LHDN myself? I have done many rounds of searches on lowyat and google but no similar case to my own
How do I proceed with the Tax Clearance if I 1. had left employment since mid Mar 2. Per tax table, my gross annual salary of 3 months doesn't warrant any tax deduction 3. but my ex-employer had helped to deduct my tax in the 3 months If I must perform tax clearance, do I need to nudge my ex-employer to do this or handle myself? if I don't have to, does it mean I will wait until 2023 to perform normal tax filing and claim back ? |

Once you have the tax amount from LHDN, you need to notify your employer for them to make payment and the balance will return to your account. How do I proceed with the Tax Clearance if I 1. had left employment since mid Mar 2. No question about holding salary or balance repayment by ex-employer I'm not sure if it has changed over the last 7-10 years but iirc your last employer needs to fill up a form for LHDN to state that you left your job with them and going abroad. My enquiry is about necessity and steps to do tax clearance without troubling ex-employer. Someone from LHDN will contact/email you to verify and then clear you. Did you inform your past employer that you were leaving to work abroad? |

I need some question answered please, as I am planning to work in Singapore in the near future.
1. How long would it take for me to travel by motorbike from Taman Plentong Utama to Seletar, and vice versa? I am talking about the rush hour to work. Have to arrive by 8am. 2. How bad is the traffic nowadays during peak hours at the Causeway Bridge? 3. What is the rules and regulations of using a Malaysian registered bike in Singapore? Are there certain restrictions that I need to know of? 4. Will it be more cost efficient for me to stay in SG while working in SG? |

Not even to confirm if they have filed CP21 which is for the purpose of declaring employee's resignation or leaving Malaysia indefinitely.Someone from LHDN will contact/email you to verify and then clear you. Hey all, I will be moving to Singapore for work soon. I am thinking of driving into Singapore once with all my big furnitures to make the move easier, planning to transport my chair, computer, some used kitchenwares, books in my car.
Question is do I need to fill up any forms? I found this online, wondering if this is sufficient... https://www.customs.gov.sg/businesses/impor...ersonal-effects What are the chances of me getting taxed for the items I am bringing in? |

My dude.whilst you were working with your ex company, If you informed the HR that you were leaving them to come Sg to work they would have submitted that cp21 for you. You can also self submit now per https://www.hasil.gov.my/en/employers/termi...ion-of-service/ Form CP21 can be submitted either online via e-SPC or at the IRBM office which handles the employee’s income tax number |

I don't know any cases where LHDN go the extra length to chase M'sian that's left for work overseas. I for instance left my job for SG more than 10 years ago without any declaration, and now back to work in MY again, continue paying tax to Malaysian government...no big deal seriouslyWhy don't you look ahead instead of the past - think of how you can integrate into new society, fit into new company culture, how to be productive, etc... |

QUOTE(jsontextbox @ May 19 2022, 11:00 PM) Just drive. Just don't raise suspicion by boxing your item in their original boxes as in you are trying to bring those stuff to sell in Singapore. There are thousands of cars going through Checkpoints every day. Some SG plate cars are packed with groceries like cooking oil, milo, etc... |

Yeah I’m planning to just load them into my car, just a few major items. I’ll try to fill up the relief form I found, see what happens. QUOTE(Mackiddo @ May 20 2022, 07:32 AM) not sure but the moment you put your sg address in your application, it’s already consider as resident of Sg? Haha in my EP application there was no address stated, my job was applied with my Malaysian address too. Considering my EP is not yet activated, I don’t think I’m counted as one. On my arrival to SG, I still have to enter as a short term visitor. |
