Ryzen officially support DDR4 2133, 2400 and 2666, higher than that need oc, and it is depend on your motherboard and ram quality.

with the option available, do you know which one is the best for performance per dollar and if possible real life testing?

At least in theory, a faster RAM/memory speed may increase Ryzen performance, since infinity fabric which interconnect the CCX is tied to memory controller.

However in real life, the performance gain is negligible. For example, a faster memory will only increase a few fps only in game. And u will not notice it in daily usage, unless u run benchmark. So, practically there is no performance losing by using slower memory with Ryzen. For more info, u can refer techpowerup review, they perform memory analysis with ryzen.

Guys... need your opinion..

This is my current setup...

Intel Xeon E1230V2
Asus P8B75-M
G,Skill Ares 1600 Cl9 8GB
Sapphire 7770
650 watt psu

Is there any point of upgrading the mobo @ gc@ ram for better performance? Is my proc is outdated already?

If not, do suggest model to optimize my cpu performance with the existing proc.. thanks a bunch.. thumbsup.gif

No need to upgrade if you are satisfied with the current performance.

Everyone has different satisfaction, if you don't feel slow at all then why go for an upgrade? You need to question yourself first "Am I okay with the current performance? Like the settings that I can run in games, the frame rates that I can get from my current setup, the time needed to finish a video render and so forth".

You never state out the purpose of your rig initially so it is hard to give any plain recommendation after all. The processor is still one of the fastest out there (on par with i7 4790), if you are a gamer and craving for more frame rates then you should upgrade the GPU.

Thanks for your advice.. you're right.. maybe i'm being greedy.. hehe..

Currently i'm satisfied with my performance.. just that i got some money to spend.. thats why i'm thinking for add on a few fan & cpu cooler.. at the same time want to know if anything can be done to improve the performance..

Hi guys, the monitor is not included in the 3k. hehe, 3k purely CPU.
Thanks for the recommendation. Is it possible to get I7 instead of I5?

That's crazy. I suggest bump your budget for i5-7400 at around RM815 for it and another 8GB RAM.

i7-7700 is around RM500 more money. Had to lower the graphic card. Ryzen 5 is better bang for the buck.
