Looks good, thanks. If I am able to add a bit more to my budget, should I be getting an i7-8700 instead? Or is it an overkill?
Yes, it will help increase performance gaming at 2k/4k. It is not overkill.[OFFICIAL]Rig Suggestion Q&A Thread V13!

QUOTE(cloudlionheart @ Nov 30 2018, 09:20 AM) Looks good, thanks. If I am able to add a bit more to my budget, should I be getting an i7-8700 instead? Or is it an overkill? i7 is not overkill for high end GPUs. It reduces the bottleneck. Bottleneck shifts to the GPU on higher resolution though. Also, i7-8700 requires a RM150ish cooler. Stock cooler is crap. This post has been edited by TristanX: Nov 30 2018, 09:29 AM |

QUOTE(mbr @ Nov 30 2018, 08:40 AM) Yes, but at the budget given, it is hard to justify the i5-8400, unless getting the GT1030 GPU for his gaming needs. He still wants to fit multiple monitors into the budget, I think. When my dad gave me the desktop he gave me the monitor mouse keyboard and the dongle for wifi as well. So i dont need to buy those. I just need to get 1 more monitor. So i5 better? And opening heavy files is not the same as performing calculations such as the Monte Carlo simulations, right? Thus the 16GB RAM but 4 cores selection. QUOTE(ismailfadzlullah @ Nov 30 2018, 10:22 PM) Hi, i just finish build up my new rig If thats Kingston A400, thats SSD with no DRAM cache issue. You get stutters that is worse than hard disk when the load is elevated.Installed windows 10 and all the drivers Can play AAA game at ultra settings all games The problem now is, sometimes the window freeze Almost every 10 mins, the window freeze And sometimes when i start the rig, it stucks at the asrock logo Unable to press the setup or bios What is the problem with my rig? I told the whole world to avoid DRAMless SSDs. Especially when it is primary disk for OS. |

For SATA, Crucial MX500 250GB at RM229, 500GB at RM349. If you want even more performance, Samsung 970 Evo 250GB at RM479. All from the same shop.Yes. It is primary disk for my os Ouch. Now i see the issue So i should get better ssd or m.2 for my primary os But i will keep my games/movies in the ssd Is it ok? Yes, you can keep your games on SSD. Dont write too much on SSDs, they have maximum Terabytes Written for the warranty. Save movies on the hard disk. This post has been edited by TristanX: Nov 30 2018, 11:44 PM |
