Intel is not future upgradablility. Change socket every 1/2 generation. How about these?

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 + Gigabyte B450 Aorus M - 1088 ( https://www.lelong.com.my/pwp-gigabyte-b450...7-01-Sale-I.htm )
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 X1 - 290
Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 Windforce OC - 1199
Patriot Scorch 256GB M.2 PCIE SSD - 309
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 180
Super Flower Leadex Silver Eco 500W - 259
Tecware Nexus case - 185

RM3510 total (C-Zone prices except CPU and mobo)

Better quality mob and PSU, faster SSD. Motherboard support till at least 2020. Wifi dongle is cheap. RM20-50 can get one.

Budget: RM 3,000

Purpose: Work & normal usage.

Hardwares that will be re-use: Graphic card GTX 670 from old PC (future plan)

Monitor resolution: No preference

Games & software that use frequently: SQL accounting software (single user), Ms Office.

Personal preferences: Good quality PSU and reliable components ( Don't want PC kaput), include genuine Windows. maybe ATX motherboard for future upgrades to have graphic card for light gaming. At the moment I don't think this work PC dont need graphic card yet.

Location: Klang (can travel around KL & Selangor la)

According to the SQL hardware requirement, I think it need at lease i5 processor and 4gb RAM.

TristanX and other sifu-sifu, need your help as I am not updated with latest tech spec. Dont have to maximize the budget but cost effective.

Remove the graphic card from the post above you. Add LG 24" monitor at around RM440.

[Budget] : Around RM9k

[Purpose] : Gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] : Keyboard, Mouse, HDD, Monitors

[Monitor resolution]: Acer X34 P + Secondary 1440p monitor for streaming while gaming.

[Games & softwares that use frequently]: AAA titles

[Personal preferences]: Minimal RGB lighting, would prefer price/performance over lights

[Location] : KL

Hello again Sifus.
Seeing that the new Intel 9 series is not that worth it price/performance wise, opinions on the following? (based on previous recommendations + some snooping around)

CPU: INTEL CORE I7 8700K PROCESSOR
COOLER: NH-D15 (I read that air cooling is still more efficient)?
MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING
RAM: KINGSTON 3200 HYPERX PREDATOR RGB 8GB X 2
GPU: ZOTAC GTX1080TI 8G 11GB OC
SSD: SAMSUNG 970 EVO 250GB M2 PCIE
HDD: Already bought
PSU: SUPER FLOWER 750W LEADEX II 80+ GOLD
CASE: Fractal Design DEFINE R6 TG ATX

The above from C-Zone sums up to around 8.5k.

Questions:
1. Is C-Zone the best choice to order it from? Are there other alternatives that offer OC services etc?
2. RTX2080 vs GTX1080TI? 2080 seems to be available for around RM600+ more elsewhere, is that worth it?

Thank you again~

Handling heavy heatsinks like NH-D15 needs to be done carefully. The weight may kill the motherboard. AIO water cooling shifts the weight to the computer case. No issue there.

RTX 2080 is not worth the price. Thanks to no competition from AMD. Nvidia is not interested in reducing the price.

Does the DLSS and ray tracing make it worth to upgrade?

Not at the moment. In my eyes, proprietary stuffs has very little future. Look at PhysX!

Solidworks heavily favors intel.
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/...eadripper-1105/

However, the article is rather old.

Budget is tight adding Quadro.

Core i7-8700K - 1599
Scythe Mugen 5 Rev B - 189
MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC - 900
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 X2 - 580
Patriot Scorch 256GB M.2 PCIE - 309
WD blue or Seagate 1TB - 180
Super Flower Leadex Gold 650W - 415
Corsair Carbide 275R case - 339

RM4511 total (C-Zone prices)

Not enough budget to add Quadro GPU. Use built-in first.

Then add Leadtek Quadro P2000 for rm2499 or P1000 for RM 2129 (C-zone price).

Comparing:
https://technical.city/en/video/Quadro-P2000-vs-Quadro-P1000

Nvidia recommends P2000 for solidworks
https://www.nvidia.com/object/graphics-for-solidworks.html

But testing noted P1000 probably gives you the same (costs slightly less)
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/...g-of-This-1112/

My bet is P2000 for that extra RM 300+

Hi sifus,

Need help to pick a 16GB 3200mhz++ RAM for my rig.

Using my rig for VM, work, AAA games and some video editing.

Current Rig specs

Ryzen 7 2700x
Asrock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac
240GB Sandisk SSD
1TB WD HDD
MSI GTX 1060 6GT OCV2
GSKILL Ageis 2x4gb 2400mhz
VS450 PSU
144hz 1080p monitor

I'm going to change my GPU to a GTX1080ti or RTX2070. What would you recommend and why? Is it better to wait and see if the 1080ti drop price?

Would my VS450 be enough or do I need to upgrade my PSU when I change my GPU?

Thank you

What about these:

G.SKILL TRIDENT Z RGB (2X8GB) DDR4 3200MHZ (F4-3200C14D-16GTZRX) RM 1,169.00 (Ryzen compatible)

G.SKILL FLARE X 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 3200MHZ (F4-3200C14D-16GFX) RM 999.00

As for PSU, you do need an upgrade as the minimum requirement for 1080Ti is 600W. You may consider:

SUPER FLOWER 650W LEADEX II 80+ GOLD RM 415.00

Prices taken from E Tech.
